I bet it will be great and awesome until it's released and people are playing it who didn't invest some money in it.
Hope SMS and all the people lying about pc1 and how good it was just to make some money out of it will rot in hell.

@freiwald: nobody lied about pcars. but they should have postponed the release to july and not to may. only flaw left is the ai in combination with rain, they are to fast with slicks.

"Thanks for the money! Now it's time we dropped the game after release and put all our effort into the sequel, which will have all the functionality you wanted in the first game but without the silliness of actually giving it to you without charging more! Come, fund our sequel, here's the buy now link!"

Pilferage Cars 2.

Pay £10,000 to have dinner with Ian Bell. Just don't expect any discussion about the game, as you'll be banned from the forum the next day.

I see it's no longer possible to buy.

I don't know, I checked my PayPal history, and saw some good money on Project Cars 1 (WMD payments) and would not have minded "investing again". Oh well.

Also "investment" like in PCARS 1 wasn't possible this time.

Laws that keep poor people to become rich too easily entered the party this time.
So you could only invest starting at a minimum of 10K £ if I remember correctly.

So no more easy free money Neutral

To be honest, after seeing some of the staggering amount of return some people on here got, I'm kicking myself for not investing a few hundred Euro. Hell, even just buying the base game got back what? 2x? 3x? Impressive money maker for those that managed to get in early before the legal shit locked it down.

Shame the game wasn't as impressive Laughing I wonder how PC2 is going to turn out. Maybe they'll hire some of the top management from RSI - after all, their resumés are going to be awesome...

I like this part, Dirt Rally already has some of these modes but it would be nice to see them being expanded here (it's the trend of the moment, iRacing will add offroad as well in the future).

As for this sequel, what can I say, I hope they can learn from their mistakes and embrace some proper QA this time around Razz (not much can be done about Ian Bell's cockiness though Cool Face)

Despite the quirks, I do enjoy PCars a lot, it's the only modern driving game on PC that offers a complete experience in terms of visuals/features (dynamic weather-night are a must for me), while being simulative enough to have fun (albeit not close to the pure sims like rFactor2/Automobilista).
Some cars unfortunately received less care than others, in an amateurish mod-like way, the career isn't exactly epic, there are problems with the AI being too reckless even after all the patches (y u no add an aggressiveness slider), features that were present in GTR2 (year 2006) are missing also (safety car, animated pit crews)... but still, the game is always installed here for some offline quick races, that must mean something. Very Happy

Assetto Corsa with nighttime/weather and a better structure to careers, with a smattering of improved AI would utterly blow pcars away.

The ONLY reason I still occasionally play it is so I can experience le Mans in an LMP1 car. There is nothing quite like taking the lead at 3am with the rain pelting down while navigating Porsche Curves. And only pcars has managed to capture some of that.

iracing is getting the same track - but it's not going to be quite as good as I don't fancy trying an endurance race live with other real people - without the option of pausing the game while I take a leak I'm not quite ready for the complete le mans immersion experience Laughing

RF2 is my go to sim for night racing. Last time playing I did a multiclass lmp and gte race at sebring and had mad battles with the ai. Seriously the AI in rf2 is downright amazing. Can't get over how popular the game could have been if it had more content and presented itself better.
For example the lmp, gte cars and sebring track are all mods lol. Amazing quality ones for sure but mods all the same.

I do find it really odd that with the resurgence of gaming wheels over the last 5 years, that there have not been more NEW driving sim games - pcars really doesn't count. Assetto Corsa is getting on a bit now, and the other newer names are either Simcade types, or... well, there ain't any. Iracing is the best 'pure' driving sim, but as that is MP only, I don't like to count it.

I'm ignoring pcars2 as it will just be another simcade game. Dirt is of course superb - but it isn't a road racing game.

Cmon devs - get your geaheads on and bring out a proper 'NexGen®' racer... the public are hungry, and are waiting...

Some good ones in all 3 genres would be nice indeed and preferable the arcade ones not being the yolo shit like we see in The Crew and NFS 'stories'
