I am working as an operator at a passports factory. I am operating machines... But I am one of most advanced operators. I have passed exams for all the machines in my department and now I have special training for newest machine, being trained directly by the producer for a week. It never happens. Usually low tier operators at this "factory" are trained by our engineers or trainers.
But I was chosen to be trained directly, because I have all other exams, I speak english fluidly (believe it  ) and I am prolly just a good worker.
There are like 30 workers on my shift. 2 of them are master trainers. The funny thing is that one of them is working shorter than me and I've been training him usage of most of the machines... then he became a trainer and he is all big, intelligent and "all so better than me and others" now. The point is, he is a dick who just lies about everything.
I know that I should have that promotion but I just cant behave like dick all the time. I cant be such a fucktard to my collegues just to get a promotion.
But now there is that special training. That guy I just talked about was supposed to be trained but he don't know a word in english and he is just a dumb fuck, so my shift leader who thankfully seems like more/less good guy, started noticing me some time ago and casted me for 1 day trial with german and french producers. After that day, leader of the training squad from the french team, expressed to my shift leader that he wants me to be a part of the training, so I am in.
Now I am exclusively being shown and explained the details of the process together with our engineers. One of them comes to me on the second day and says "You shouldnt work on a production. You should be an engineer with Your skills of machinery, english and studies" and he said that he will recommend me to his leader.
That would be amazingly big promotion. No more physical work for me. no more being treated like little fish in the pond and so on.... and at least twice the salary I have now.
I wonder if I should now take any steps, talk to someone or keep quiet.....
but realisticly at very least I am expecting to become an expert and trainer on my shift... but I guess I will go back to my shift after this is over and teach the dickhead trainer guy about the machine, because his english don't exist and he couldnt be a part of the training. Then he will say that I am a weak fuck and will pass me on exam. what the actuall fuck.

well, congrats for where are you now!
besides, i don't know if it will be good to talk at work about this, maybe share it to the family/friends and ask them advice, but don't at work: someone will just rip you off the train of success at their convenience like the guy you mentioned before.

This is what some of us have said KC. You've got a shit, bottom end job. You're not going to end up with anything better unless you get something that requires more papers 
Go to that guy and ask him what your options are. See if there are ways for you to get more education via the company. If he's behind you already, that helps a lot if he's willing to really recommend you.

yes Werelds. I've been speaking to that guy. after the training is over, he will write down a certificate and he will add a paragraph that says, I can become a trainer and train other people. If that becomes true, I might get one or two levels higher. nothing fantastic but better than bottom line worker.
