Seems people need such things to have a reason to enjoy a day or get together and have wide-spread sharing and happyness. Sigh. And the so called "reasons" behind some days that we celebrate (Halloween etc)

That's a reason simple way to look at it. The truth is that most people have days or the week off, have been looking forward to it for weeks, it's tradition, most people are in high spirits, etc. and combined it creates a good atmosphere which people enjoy. Do it on any other random day, and you won't have any of the above.

My new years party was pretty amazing. About 20 guests, noone injured or hurt, only lots of alcohol consumed. As long as all the guests are as well behaved as they have been the last few years, I'll keep throwing these parties till I'm grey and old.

Yea, people actually DO need it, its almost like a morale boost kind of thing, but still, funny how people often dont find enough reasons to enjoy a day in family or friends or community.

Actually no. When I got into a fight few years ago and got a small wound (~5mm) in my inner mouth corner, the doctors made 7!! stitches to get it fixed Smile

You comparing 7 to 300? Laughing I thought you were gonna say yeah I got 220 stitches last fall. I'd like to see what 300 stitches look like.

Well quick math says 7 stitches for 5mm is 0,71mm per one stitch, which again is 214mm for 300 stitches. So a big cut sure but hardly a frankenstein monster.

214 millimeters =
8.42 inches
