Kurtzman & Orci & Pinker are writing The Amazing Spider-Man 3. Webb will likely direct it.
Kurtzman & Orci & Solomon are writing Venom. Kurtzman will direct.
Goddard will write and direct The Sinister Six.

Everyone is after dat Avengers money.

Venom solo movie? Now I'm like Frap Frap Guy

Later, when they announce Taylor Lautner/Derping Tatum/Kellen Lulz as Venom I'll be like-
 Spoiler:

"I think Call of Duty resonates because it's believable and relatable," Sledgehammer Games cofounder Michael Condrey says.

Believable and relatable...Yep, sounds like Call of Duty

New thread title to repurpose the thread. The new Spidey in MCU and Sony's standalone films will be 15-16 year old.

http://collider.com/spider-man-kevin-feige-confirms-peter-parker-in-high-school/

Quote:
“In terms of the age of an actor we’ll eventually to cast, I don’t know. In terms of the age of what we believe Peter Parker is, I’d say 15-16 is right.”

“We want to play with Spider-Man in the high school years because frankly there’ve been five Spider-Man films and the amazing thing about it is, even though there’ve been five Spider-Man films, there are so many things from the comics that haven’t been done yet. Not just characters or villains or supporting characters, but sides to his character. The most obvious being the ‘young, doesn’t quite fit in’ kid before his powers, and then the fella that puts on a mask and swings around and fights bad guys and doesn’t shut up, which is something we want to play with and we’re excited about.”

“I think it was midway through the first film that he graduated high school. At the beginning of the second Marc Webb film, he graduated high school. And some of my favorite Spider-Man arcs and Spider-Man stories, he’s in high school for a lot of it. We want to explore that. That also makes him very, very different from any of our other characters in the MCU, which is something else we want to explore: how unique he is when now put against all these other characters.”

This age decision could go both ways and it all depends on the right casting choice which could make it or break it.

1 and 2 are still amazing.

aaaaaaaaaaaand you lost me.

im so sick of early years shit. this'll be the third time we've seen this shit, and its the least interesting period in his life... sorry but it is. why is it every time we finally move away from that shit, we get a reboot and then essentially undo all this crap and have to suffer it all over again.

do they really think... are they really that worried... that if they just dove right into a reboot with spiderman having been doing his shit for the past few years, that people are going to be all confused about the character and the concept? 'who is this man spider guy anyway'?

thats some pretty epic paranoia. after 2 attempts at this, if there are still people who dont know the character, or have trouble picking up the concept within the first 5 minutes, theyre PROBABLY not target demographic anyway Very Happy

They should introduce Madame webb
in the beginning before he gets his powers to show alternate dimensions where the life of Peter Parker failed (cast all the other actors and show them fail) and that he has a new start and to take on the responsibility.

They should do a Netflix series based on spider mans high school senior year and reboot the movie franchise with the same actor. Introduce us to him and then do a big budget movie after the origin is fully established.

They have to do origin. Regardless.
which is why spiderman now as a franchise is dead.
if they want to do a post origin story, they need to introduce him in an off shoot
where they show or talk about his origin and show the actor playing spiderman
and then do a movie. they can't reboot a franchise w/o origin.

Given marvel's MCU they might just do that which would be smart. In an avengers or so have an off shoot like they did with hulk or other characters to show their involvement

who knows maybe after avengers 2 sheild will introduce peter parker or miles in order to train for new avengers.

The lack of origin story worked for Tim Burton's Batman (although you have Joker's origin story Philosopheraptor ).
I don't think it needs it, everyone knows the deal with Spider-Man. They could do the origin story in the opening credits, like the 90s cartoon.

I think they said it even before they'd rather not do an origin story.

What people probably missed is where he said:

Quote:

It's not a statement about having an origin story. It's a statement about planning to make movies upon movies in the high school setting. Webb dedicated one movie to high school Parker and Feige thinks it's not nearly enough.

"It will not be an origin story. But, with great power comes great responsibility. It is inherent to who his character is. But we want to reveal it in different ways and spend much more time focusing on this young high school kid in the MCU dealing with his powers."
"There is a young kid [already] running around New York City in a homemade version of the Spider-Man costume in the MCU, you just don’t know it yet,"

Quote:
Feige emphasised a desire to have the character interact with other heroes and explore his high school years in greater depth. He also wants to delve into Spidey's comedic side, by touching on "his nervous energy, bothering the criminals with banter as much as with his powers. That’s something that I think we’re excited to explore." Feige then went on to talk about the look of the new Spider-Man and how it differs to previous versions. "I mean look, I was more involved in the Raimi ones, and think they did a very good job. But that being said, we’ve already designed the costume, which is different than any of the ones that have come before. And yet ours is classic Spidey, as I think you’ll see."

These are the directors being considered: http://deadline.com/2015/05/spider-man-director-short-list-marvel-sony-1201421161/

Quote:
Here are the filmmakers I’m told are seriously in the mix right now. Don’t take this as being all inclusive, but it sounds like things are moving quickly and they could make a decision by the end of next week and make a final choice with studio chief Tom Rothman.

There is 50/50 and Warm Bodies writer/helmer Jonathan Levine;
Ted Melfi, writer/director of Golden Globe-nommed St. Vincent;
Pitch Perfect helmer Jason Moore;
John Francis Daley & Jonathan M. Goldstein, the directors/writers of the updated version of John Hughes’ Vacation;
and Napoleon Dynamite and Don Verdean writer/director Jared Hess.

I don't know these guys Laughing I guess I know Hess from Napoleon Dynamite but that's it. Razz
