Synopsis
»Trüberbrook« is a thrilling mystery adventure game set in rural Germany in the late 1960s. The player takes the role of young american physicist Tannhauser, who happens to end up in the eponymous village of Trüberbrook, an ageing but beautiful health resort somewhere in the densely forested countryside of West Germany. Tannhauser, while working on his PhD thesis, comes to Trüberbrook seeking to crack a tiresome mental block. But something in this town seems strangely spaced out, as the superficial german homeland setting gradually evolves into a puzzling sci-fi mystery.

Style
One of the most distinctive features of the game is it’s unique visual style: The whole scenery and all backdrops will be build as real miniature scale models, captured with a 3D scanner, digitally polished and then blended with animated characters, visual effects and set extensions.
Gameplaywise, »Trüberbrook« is a somewhat classic point-and-click adventure game with a modern approach.
Mood and atmosphere of the game are inspired by TV series like »Twin Peaks«, »The X-Files« and »True Detective«. The game mixes German folklore with a gripping sci-fi storyline, covering universal themes like love, friendship, loyalty, rootlessness, self-discovery and monster hunting.

Loving the handmade miniature-like style (the devs themselves are quite unknown, but if we're lucky it could turn into something pleasant).

I tried several adventure games but never liked them. This one looks good, might give it another go when it is released.
Might be better to just ignore the genre if it is not for you. If you're unsure the best advice I could give is try the best ones in the genre.
For the best ones i would recommend the Dark Eye and Deponia games. Both by Daedalic Entertainment, the adventure masters.
Indeed, Daedalic are a certainty, especially the earlier stuff. They tried a more consolish approach with the most recent adventure (Silence) which didn't work too well in my opinion, hopefully they'll go back to the good ol' formula.
The beauty of the adventure genre is the extreme variety in terms of approaches despite the 'fixed' mechanics: there are LucasArts' classics (which hold the most loved place in my nostalgic gaming corners), the Broken Sword saga, The Longest Journey, the Gabriel Knight games, Syberia 1/2, the cryptic Myst, Sanitarium, the Police Quest(s), The Neverhood, and many more quality journeys that deserve to be experienced.
The genre seemed to struggle at some point, but thankfully companies like Amanita (Machinarium and Samorost 3 are masterpieces) and Wadjet Eye Games (practically all of them) have been helping making adventures great again, fighting the cinematic imposters. Among the most recent ones I would definitely recommend Stasis as well, if only for the amazing atmosphere alone.

There was a topic for a very similar handcrafted adventure game. Couldn't remember the name anymore though, as i thought it was that game and they just renamed it.
And yea, the LucasArts classics are probably my favourite adventure games too.
Especially Indiana Jones: Fate of Atlantis i liked very much back then. The environments and atmosphere was just so well done.

If you like comic/animation style then you can also check out sam & max. Can't say it's a masterpiece but i liked it. And it was before Telltale went full retard so you can feel safe about the game.
Played both sam & max hit the road and day of the tentacles but never finished them.
Maybe because at that time adventure games were more common and i did try most games at that time.
Not possible with the amount of games coming out today.
It is more than 20 years since i played the last adventure game, might like it more now.
Looks ok except I don't like the characters design too much.

I have to admit, I bought it. I love adventure games so I try to support the genre.
"Enlightenment is man's emergence from his self-imposed nonage. Nonage is the inability to use one's own understanding without another's guidance. This nonage is self-imposed if its cause lies not in lack of understanding but in indecision and lack of courage to use one's own mind without another's guidance. Dare to know! (Sapere aude.) "Have the courage to use your own understanding," is therefore the motto of the enlightenment."

For 3440x1440
Open the "UnityPlayer.dll" file (found in game directory) with a Hex Editor, search 39 8E E3 3F and replace with 8E E3 18 40 (1 occurrence)
Open the "Assembly-CSharp.dll" file (found in "\Truberbrook_Data\Managed" directory) with a Hex Editor, search 39 8E E3 3F and replace with 8E E3 18 40 (3 occurrences)
Change resolution in game options.
It worked for me.
For 2560x1080
Replace the value 39 8E E3 3F with 26 B4 17 40
Works good, some glitches on the sides like there is missing stuff but I guess this game was not intended to work flawlessly in that ratio but at least the said ratio is fine and I find it way better then 16:9 with blackbars..
