well yeah, first 2 pics don't look bad. Looks a lot like OFP to me, from the graphics and colours to the vehicles, terrain & building style etc. It's from pyro, the guys that did mafia so I guess it won't be a bad game...

Yes, it looks like OFP but I guess it's not bad. The dev's look like a good bunch, after all mafia was damn good. I think this may turn pretty good.

Looks like OFP and that is a good thing. Mafia is a classic which could have beneffited from more MOD-friendly code. This should be cool.

I just got some new infos on the game from a mag...

- The game is going to feature fully destructable objects AND terrain. They've made an engine allowing dynamic terrain deformation. You can dig small holes for cover (real foxholes), blow up nice big holes etc etc. Destruction system is also used on objects. Houses can be destroyed or simply holes shot in (like in red faction). The houses will feature a neet interior with furniture etc as nice little detail

-They licensed the mequon physics engine. Its used for realistic behaviour of all objects, including the debris etc, for full interaction between player and environment. You'll be able to do full interaction with environment, climb trees for sniping etc. Or blow them up to get rid of the snipers. The physics allow chain reactions...

- Theres an own fire system. The game features huge forests, you can start a wood fire if you'd like, since physics system simulates fire spreading etc.

- Theres 100 square kilometers of environment which was modelled using satellite info. In addition to that there 900 square kilometers of automatically generated terrain.

-there were new pics, the game looked quite good. Like in OFP, its one gigantic environment. Not the graphical overkill with effects, but very realistic in terms of colour, reminds a lot of ofp with its greenish and grey colour shades. It looks pretty much like ofp actually, simply imagine everything a bit more detailed and more realistic looking.

-You will be able to use all vehicles, including aircraft. You participate in large scale tank battles, helicopter strikes or be simply a soldier in a huge scale battle.

- The game will focus on large-scale battles, with several different unit types operating at the same time. YOu'll feel like in war, in the middle of the battlefield. Due to the large scale battles and the completely destructable terrain, environment wil change a lot after a battle.

- The game is realistic, though more action-orientated than ofp, du to the bigger and more open battles, you're just a soldier among a hundred others. You got a lot bigger groups than ofp.

- The game plays in an european environment, big woods, lik germany.

-Large mission editor, multiplayer modes like coop etc.

-Release is end of 2005

This looks like a great opponent for ofp. Actually, its got all we ever missed in ofp. Though it won't be as accurate simulation than ofp, it looks great judging pics and features. Maybe someone can come up with some new screens...

I don't know how they will handle all of the defomations in multiplayer, developers have balked at the bandwidth required, but the specs you listed saddamhussein have already made me wet my panties!
