LOL! I dont normally bash on games, especially when I didnt pay for it but this game is "TERRIBLE!"

eVGA 6800Ultra here and the game looks like some really bad 16bit snes game, it was buggy, the charactor responds slow when you click on him, the graphics are bad, there were "NO" option's or setting's. ugh!

Surprised

Mmm...I'll wait some mini reviews, but judging by the screenshots Sacred looks 10.000 times prettier.

EDIT: just launched it, and it gives me an error "game needs at least open gl 1.1"
lol, I have the latest beta nvidia graphic drivers, supporting open gl 1.3
Well....
---> Uninstall.

REWiew:

The story takes place on a distant planet. The planet - alike the Earth - is divided into continents, most of which is inhabited by a number of races of different beings. Due to the fact that the civilization development of the world corresponds to early middle ages, the communication between particular continents is, in fact, not possible. Thanks to this, on each continent there was developed separate culture and the inhabitants of particular continents are different from each other. There is a rumour among the more developed parts of the population, which says that somewhere "over the ocean" there are other beings, other towns and villages, however most people consider this to be day-dreaming of presumptuous thinkers. Of course there were many brave men who have taken the risk, either to gain fame or money, and set off for a long cruise, however there is no trace left of him...

On one of the continents, in a seaside village there lives a woodcutter. His life goes by slowly and peacefully, the days are similar to one another. Not far from him there lives a village shaman. Both characters are joined by certain event. One day, when shaman was strolling around the nearby forrests, with the purpose known exclusively to him, he found an unconscious man on a forrest clearing. The shaman brought him round and took to the village. After a few days it became clear that the man does not remember who he is and how he found himself in the forrest. The shaman became a bit anxious about this situation, however the days were passing by and the man became a part of the local life.

Because he was a strong man, and taller than other inhabitants of the village, he was given an offer to become a woodcutter. He agreed on this with no resistance, at last, in his state it was difficult for him to decide whether this idea is good or not. After some time he came to a conclusion, that he is keen on this work and he decided to stay in the village for good. The inhabitants took note of the fact with a joy...

One morning, when he got down to processing the wood, his body was shaked with a cold shiver. He tried to recover, however with no result. He wanted to open his eyes, however, he realized they are already open. But he could not see the forrest clearing behind his hut. He was cold - no wonder - cold wind was blowing, there was dark around and it was raining cats and dogs. He looked straight ahead and in the distance he noticed an enormous castle. However, it was not alike the ones about which he had heard from the travellers. It looked as if it was made of steel, it was shining with every clap of thunder. The building made him worry, he did not know why, but it aroused fear in him and something else... he felt that he needed to come in and do what he decided...

The vision dissapeared. Now he found himself in a corridor. There was horrendously brightly here. The light was of bluish-green colour. An idea came to his mind that this was strange... It was obvious for him that the torches burn in yellow or red... However, his attention was drawn by enormous windmills turning under the vault of the corridor, not for all the money in the world could he associate in which purpose they are turning. The disturbing feeling appeared again... he became excited ... he knew that soon, he will get his own way...

The corridor dissapeared - instead of it there appeared a middle-sized room. He felt relief because it was not as bright as in the corridor. Instead of the bright light there were a lot of red-green flickering points. He noticed that he is following a few of them "...only one hand-movement, I hope there won't be many victims, for sure - less..." - again something came to his mind. His hand made its way towards the row of small square insets on a table top and started to push them. After a while, the tiresome feeling of anxiety had went away. He knew he kept to his resolution... Suddenly, the doors opened violently and frightfully blue and green light burst into the room...

He noticed that he was standing on the clearing, nearby his hut. Next to him there was his axe on the ground. He breathe a sigh of relief, however he hold his breath suddenly... as he noticed a shiny shape, somwhere over the water, on the horizon, a shape which he had already seen many times, but never taken notice of it... till now...

It's too bad there's so few games which involve a traditional fantasy world set within a futuristic universe (a la Might & Magic), otherwise I'd be less disappointed about how amateurish this game looks. I remember feeling the same way about Paradise Cracked in regards to the cyberpunk gaming genre.
