Better Call Saul is the upcoming television series spin-off of Breaking Bad created by Vince Gilligan and Peter Gould, with Saul Goodman (played by Bob Odenkirk) as the main character.
The series will be a prequel about Saul before he became Walter White's lawyer.

"[Showrunner Peter Gould and I] think, by and large, this show will be a prequel, but the wonderful thing about the fractured chronology we employed on Breaking Bad for many years is the audience will not be thrown by us jumping around in time. So it’s possible that we may indeed do that, and we’ll see the past and perhaps the future."
Gilligan says one major challenge with the show is finding the drama in Saul himself because the character is "very comfortable in his own skin" which makes things difficult because "a character that at heart seems at peace with himself is intrinsically undramatic."
He was asked which "Breaking Bad" characters he would like to have back and could fit into the story in a logical way:
"The character that springs to mind would be Mike (Jonathan Banks). That would be a great deal of fun. I would say the sky’s the limit, at least theoretically speaking." |

I really really really liked Saul but I'm being very skeptic here. Spin-offs have a tendency to fuck up everything.

I'm quite curious to see how they'll manage to merge pure comedy and drama without making it seem awkward. It's nearly a mission impossible.. but I kinda trust Vince

Probably going to be either hit or miss.
Let's not forget that AMC is trying to take first place from SyFy on most canceled shows. Probably it's for the best not to get too attached to this one.
Hopefully, I will be wrong.
