Over here the price of the uncapped packages is way too high in comparison to your standard landline offers. And it still should be more susceptible to speed fluctuations due to load and connection quality, etc.
If they get the costs down, things should get more interesting ...

Here in the NL 4G is still shit, they capped it so it's only a little tad faster than 3G. But you pay about 20-30% more than a 3G contract...
Fucking ISP's here (mainly the mobile departments from them) are fucking cunts that should be fucking shot, they even flat out lie in their ads about how fast 4G can really be, yet they get away with it

Well the target people are derps, so they really can get away with it sadly. As long as they can filter their foto's and look at vines/lolcats noone is going to bitch because it goes 5 seconds faster!

Here:
Quote: | Welke snelheid biedt 4G?

Well KPN doesn't actually charge extra anymore, Vodafone i think still does it only for "Red" contracts..
But the contract rates have gone insanely high anyway: http://www.kpn.com/prive/mobiel/toestel-en-abonnement/abonnementen.htm
2GB data per month = €47,50 per month
Everything under it is 500mb per month or lower.. and when you cross that, you can buy 250mb extra for €5,-
Vodafone offers are a tad better with price: https://www.vodafone.nl/shop/mobiel/abonnement/red-abonnementen.shtml
But the €35 and €39 contracts are capped to 30mbit (and they say you get around 6 to 10mbit out of it in reality), if you want "proper" 4G speeds, you need to get the €50,- contract (and still get max expected speed of 10-15mbit )
I haven't had a mobile contract for almost 2 years now, not even sim only. It's a fucking moneysink here
They even experimented with their contracts so they you didn't own the phone that you got with it and actually had to pay €10,- per month extra as "rent" and when the contract ended you could either return it or buy it from them
Glad that didn't catch on.

Verizon capped data here as well but I still have my unlimited because I refuse to change anything on my plan. If I change even 1 detail they consider it a plan change and will move me to the new plan bullshit and then charge me 10 dollars to do it.

4G's problem is it's quite regional. You can't get that speed everywhere.

You pay a premium here for it, then you find out its capped (d/l limits) to hell and given its only in a small percentage of the country, you are better off with uncapped 3G.

http://shop.ee.co.uk/mobile-tariffs/pay-monthly/?plan=4g
http://www.vodafone.co.uk/shop/plan-selector/index.htm#4G
I mean seriously, who the fuck would take that at thatprice over an unmetered (FUP obviously ) 3G connection.

Saus: it's because they only started rolling it out last year here. There's been a lot of bullshit around which standard was going to be used and such, so they couldn't really do much. And they need to get their network sorted before they can offer the proper speeds
Mobile coverage in our country is actually harder than it is for Finland because of our population density. Finland has 16 people per km^2 - we've got 405 people per km^2. And in our case, the majority of those 405 will have at least one mobile connection

Still doesn't take away the fact that they are abusing it to ramp up the contract prices with big amounts..
I used to pay around €25,- for my 2 year Vodafone contract, with 300 min or 600 sms and 1GB data..
Now you pay €35,- with a €9,- "discount" already
But come on, you should know better than thinking KPN/Vodafone actually thinking in their clients interest rather than squeezing money out of them for bullshit reasons

Holy shit that stuff is expensive.
This is basicly 100/50Mbps max and getting near those numbers is what suprises me the most, the bandwidth seems to about halve during primetime but it's still way better than my old crappy landline.
Also the old 24/1 cost 39,90€/month where as this is 19,90€/month aswell..
