Actually Snow White and the Huntsman was really a beautiful movie with a love for detail. Atleast artistic part might be good but I'm afraid of the script.

best way to do this would be to cgi the core cast, except for togusa... that way, if nothing else, you atleast get the right look, voice, and movement for the bulk of the characters.

If they dont catch the core problematic of mind/matter/machine and idea of transhumanism right, the movie will most definately suck. And I bet they wont.
Remembering some of the scenes in GitS 2, I doubt they can even reproduce the sheer musical and visual glory this has to offer.
I'd rather they just dont try.

I don't think the Japanese setting and characters can't translate to American ones and convey the same themes and whatever, but the choice of Margot Robbie does not inspire me with confidence..

That looks nice but close to 0 creativity is needed to do what they did. If Hollywood wants to, they can do the same in a heartbeat, no need to contact them.
