About Signs of Life (From the steam page)

Signs of Life is a sci-fi survival sandbox platformer with a combination of procedurally generated and hand-crafted content. You'll explore mysterious locations, Mine blocks for resources, and meet strange (and some familiar) creatures, some of which don't even want to kill you and eat your corpse. Along the way, you'll be able to craft armor, weapons, gadgets and more to assist you in surviving in an inhospitable environment.

Currently in Early Access from steam

This is my small review after playing 30-40mins

If you like survival game, i'm pretty sure you'll like it.

Animations are really smooth, inventory is kinda of a mess (Ultima Online style) and controls too (you can't assign stuff to hotkey, like starbound. Instead, for exemple, press 2 select your weapon. If you have more than one, use the mouse scroll to change weapon. Same thing for the wrist laser. Press 1 to select it, then mouse scroll to switch the different fonction, like mining, map, the little portable computer, light etc...)I dont remember what 3 is used for, but 4 is for blocks and 5 for consumables if I recall correctly

Also, for the inventory, you can craft special bags, that put all the associated items in it. Like a forager bag which put all plants in it, a hunter bag for meat, mining bag for ores, etc...

But, still, even with all that, I think it's really fun. Keep in mind I only had time to play 30-45mins and was lost most of that time hehehe.

But like I said, it's way more surival /crafting than lets say, Starbound.

For exemple, for crafting a camp fire, you need to get the the stone and wood. Then craft it. If you dont find stone, you can craft a hammer, and break stone block into small stones.

Then, you need to craft a fire starter tool and use it on the camp fire to light it. Using the fire started tool create a bunch of sparks, so If you don't aim it at the camp fire when using it, you can see the whole area on fire!

Oh yeah, you can kick chickens and cows!

Tip for people deciding to buy it : Once you have landed with your little pod, don't forget to take the items in the storage compartment (the box in the middle of the floor). There is a pistol, a flare gun, some ammo, a bag and some food I think.

Multiplayers is the next milestone, so they say!
Lots of potential!

Well it's actually pretty fun! Even though it looks like Terraria and Starbound, this one is a lot more survival / crafting oriented than building and digging!

Similar, but different at the same time

Looks also better ingame than in the screenshots!

Well, see how this one turns out (hopefully good)
I posted this in the Starbound thread to make fun of it. But after watching the video and the features it could really be a great game Surprised
But the art style is really bad. Just look at the gif (Laughing). The resources in the ground look so out of place. If they go the route of realistic graphics, they should definately remake the ground graphics.

Bought this one and like that I have seen so far. Game seems to be more a little bit more realistic Starbound.

I understand the draw for both SP and MP for these types of games, so I won't knock it for being SP only.. but for me personally, I can't do these types of games in only SP. I'll have to pass on this one.

Looks nice enough, but I'm drowning with release titles already so all these early access games are automatically disqualified. Razz

What you talking about? PC is dying, damnit! Razz

Anyway...I bought this as it's only £5 on steam atm and it's pretty good. No fucking idea what I'm doing but still a good game Smile

Ah thanks for heads up, thought I saw that it was planned as SP for foreseeable future. Back on my radar if they have mp in mind. Smile

Get ready for Starbound clones all around now, Terraria fading to black, or did Starbound clone Still Life, which cloned Terraria?

Nice, you can interact with environment to solve quests Smile Managed to upgrade keycard to the next clearance level, found thingy that looks like a generator and you can interact with it too, some part is missing from it.

After I got used to controls and game mechanics, I like them much more than in Terraria / Starbound.
