|
 |
I wonder if there's any north american users who have a Tweaknews account.
I connect to their server (which i believe is located in Europe) through port 119. Speeds are not so bad, but i was wondering if there's any other closer server i might use, or maybe a different setting to improve them.
I contacted costumer support already a few days ago, they never replied...

I tried them about half a year ago for several months.....
The speeds were hit and miss (one day it'd max out my 30mbps, the next day it'd cap out at 20, hell, sometimes even 15). The biggest thing that seemed to make a difference was upping the raw "connection count" to whatever their max limit was. Changing ports/ssl etc. didn't seem to have much of an impact.

I use them now, in Europe and their speed isn't that great per connection. To max out the speed I have to increase the number of "threads" as they call it. I hadn't had such problems with Astraweb but well at least on TN you can still get some stuff.

I use em from Canada. I seem to get anywhere from 2-5 MegaBytes per second with it usually around 4. They always have every file which was not the case with my previous host newshosting.com so that's why I now use them exclusively.
