Never played Deus Ex. I hear people say it's good but it looks very dated now.

Everything bar the graphics and voices, basically. The voices added a funny element though

I'm in a similiar spot, I played it like 2-3 years ago for the first time, because so many people constantly recommend it. And I really liked it, but I don't think I'll ever replay it. Without nostalgia it really is hard on the eyes.

I can replay Super Mario (gameboy version), Monkey Island, Doom and Diablo 2 as often as I want though, my nostalgia is strong in these ones.

That's all you need

Deus Ex is a great game but if you ask me why it's such a great game I have a hard time answering that... There's lots of hidden secrets everywhere and if you take them they'll benefit you greatly, thus encouraging exploration. That's the one thing I enjoyed a lot with it.

Also, for some reason, Deus Ex with all the necessary mods felt more dated than System Shock 2 did with its mods, no idea why there either. |

Hehe, I agree. It's hard for me to pick a favorite though..they're both so damn great

And yep, graphically speaking, Deus Ex isn't really pleasant to the eyes (stiff "rough" models and very bad animations/collision system are the main culprits). I'm very used to those though, so in the end I barely notice the 'ugliness', simply because the rest is too good, masterpiece material ^^

edit: this mod is also amazing, top-quality production values, it feels like an official expansion:
