Quote: | Rayman Legends confirmed for PS3 & Xbox 360 release
Rayman Legends was originally billed as a Wii U exclusive, but it’s now coming to PS3 and Xbox 360, Ubisoft has confirmed.
In a statement sent to VG247, Ubisoft confirmed the game would hit both formats at some point in September. Developer of the Wii U version Ubisoft Montpellier is also creating the PS3 and Xbox 360 editions.
“We heard from many Xbox & Playstation owners and Rayman fans who told us they really wanted to play Rayman officer. ”We decided to give the fans what they wanted while at the same time broadening the audience exposed to this innovative and memorable game.”
It comes as the Wii U edition has been delayed a few times already. |

Both formats? No way jose.
Rumouringly the wii u version is also delayed till sept.
so much for getting exclusive games on the wii u. i wonder if ubi went to nintendo with the news and ninty was ok with it, or nintendo was not ok with it.
either way i'll be picking it up for wiiu since I played the demo on wii u and I can't see how the touch control levels can be ported over to ps360.
also sept is stupid cause of gta, few other titles and if the new ps4 is coming this year and no b/c.

For people who have a Wii U, don't miss the Rayman Legends Challenge App on the eshop, it's basically the old demo (with unlimited access) plus some challenges that change every day / week. Really nice for a free "demo", or whatever that is.

Well if you loved the last one you'll love Legends. Eurogamer seems to think so.
10/10

Quote: | Like the previous game, this is a 2D platformer in unashamedly classic style, delivering a constant stream of small gameplay nuggets. Every jump is a test, every obstacle a trial. Some must be tackled at speed, others allow you to think your way around them. All have been designed so that it's never as simple as a one-two-three hop up staircase-shaped platforms. You'll float, swim, glide and sprint past spikes and flames, and you'll fail. A lot. You'll feel that familiar frustration - the same feeling you got from Mega Man and every other side-scroller of note - but you'll know that it's not the game that's at fault. It's your timing, your sluggish reaction, or your panic that let you down.
This is the core of the game, and it represents the platform genre at its best. Not only does each new level bring fresh delights, but each new inch of screen that scrolls towards you will inspire grins and grimaces in equal measure. The Rayman series has endured more through Ubisoft's corporate determination than anything else, but with Legends this perennial runner-up earns its place alongside the likes of Super Mario Bros. It's that good. |
