I still have the DayZ mod but I'm not sure how popular it is now-a-days.
What is the best DayZ like game that is around right now? I'm looking for a game with loot, scary npc (the zombies in DayZ mod were enough f.e.), big gameworld, pvp, vehicles...
Edit: OH and it shouldn't be toooo expensive, I need two copies 
(bonus points if it runs on a laptop with GeForce 730m and i5 processor (ram shouldn't be a problem at 16GB  ).

I could barely run it on i7 / GT650M and 730M ain't much better. |
I don't think you read what he put did you lol..
Either way there is little out there that competes with dayz sorry to say, the latest good update that works great is going to stable branch in day or so apparently which everyone is waiting for maybe you should give that another go see if its up to par this time this patch etc for you. |

Probably H1Z1, and something like Nether, not that I played them, others might give better reviews.

Honestly I would say go find active arma 2 dayz mod - they run really well, and still I read not sure though how true that they have more players than standalone dayz still. |

Playing DayZ brought me some of the most fun I ever had with an MP game, especially when playing together with some people. I still remember our nights and sessions that we had with kurosaki and co. Glorious
So... you guys say: Go with DayZ mod?

Yeah I mean the typical bugs might still be in the Mod, but it's still very good, it's the original after all.

Can you elaborate on this? I'd like to give it a go but always thought that dayZ was online only

I took a look, but for me it's the same old thing, epoc in different skin with a twist on base building where you earn respect for territory to build. Pretty much it, but looks fairly well put together. |

7days to Die is pretty fun and enjoyable, I snagged it for on $3.74 on a steam sale and like what they are creating. They release a good update every month with a few patched inbetween. Worth the money, especially as its usually on a sale every couple of months.
Good game, it has the minecraft elements I like plus the danger of zombies and makes a good base builder type game.
