Been using a 24 inch Sammy (rigorously in dull LCD colours) since 2011, at this point I'll keep it till it dies on me. 1080p's life matters.

I don't own a TV because I simply wouldn't use it, though I got a tiny Daewoo one from the late 90s in my bedroom, just in case. Razz

34", 75" (PC, 3D vision) and 124" (PS4/Media player).

Right now i only play in 3D Vision and rarely on the PS4, feels like i can't go back to non stereoscopic (unless for strategy or something).

My monitor is 24" LED LG. I picked it very carefully because I wanted fast and basically input delay free monitor. I thought its this way but then I bought SONY 42" SMART LED 3D TV which stands next to my rig setup (not on purpose, but the way the room is designed) and I noticed the TV reacts faster than my monitor. When I play in duplicate mode I can see the TV reacting a few milliseconds faster. Also I find the picture quality to be a bit better. Or maybe I think so because of its size, I dont know but I prefer it for the most stuff. I play on my monitor just the hardcore stuff. The mainstream crap goes with me on the coachchair with the 360 pad playing on the TV. I dont mind playing games like Mad Max, Dark Souls or Splinter Cell, on the TV with the 360 pad. Its very comfy. Well, for Heroes of the Storm, Killing Floor 2, R6 Siege, etc. I switch to the monitor ofc^^

Earlier monitor was a Samsung SA850 24'inch at 1920x1200@60 and now I'm using a 27'inch Dell UP2716D which is 2560x1440@60, was thinking of going 120hz but well hitting 120 FPS in-game isn't happening and the price difference was well that other monitor was double price so maybe next time, would definitively be a upgrade from 60 but hitting 60 in-game isn't exactly easy as-is, let alone 120 or 144 but one day maybe. Razz

2560x1440 is quite a step up from 1920x1200 and as a 16:9 monitor I do avoid the black-border crap that some games do by scaling aspect ratio because all sorts of stupid reasons not to have proper scaling.

Definitively a lot more demanding though, with the 1920x1200 monitor I could also use downsampling to 2880x1800 (~50% extra.) whereas well 50% of 2560x1440 is 3840x2160 which isn't exactly easy to run in nearly all games released these last couple of years without some serious GPU power and going down to 25% or 3200x1800 well it helps but you'd want 50% at a minimum to really get some impact on overall aliasing and sharpness, 100% is better but that's 5120x2880 and that's impossible without multi-GPU support outside of very old games.
(IE GeDoSaTo and Remember Me at 10240x5760 or 4x - or ~60 mega-pixels. - which is quite a experience although yeah good luck hitting above 30 FPS unless you have a high-end Pascal GPU, dropping down to 3x works nicely though at ~7680x whatever it was again. Very Happy )

EDIT: 3440x1440 or 21:9 would definitively be fun to try but yeah even when the game developers know of it the actual implementation can be pretty poor with squashed view areas and other problems.

27" 1080p, even the 1080gtx have problem handling games at this resolution (of course less demanding ones work at 4k with no probs), so no way im buying a 4k monitor.
As for TV....I have a shitty LG, i dont know the size of it Very Happy. (3d, 1080p)

"Enlightenment is man's emergence from his self-imposed nonage. Nonage is the inability to use one's own understanding without another's guidance. This nonage is self-imposed if its cause lies not in lack of understanding but in indecision and lack of courage to use one's own mind without another's guidance. Dare to know! (Sapere aude.) "Have the courage to use your own understanding," is therefore the motto of the enlightenment."

27", 16:9, 2560x1440 @ 120Hz

IPS Panel + 1440p + high refresh rate = best gaming experience to be had.
Couldn't go back to 1080p or 60Hz or whatever. Everytime I have to use a monitor with these I get eye cancer.

I used to go to lan parties with my old 42" TV before I had my previous monitor (Benq XL2420T).

I really want a second QNIX on my table but the new ones look different to mine and don't really have the money to spare Sad
Would mean less alt+tabbing if I had one.

Whenever possible, I play on my 1080p projector (OPTOMA HD141X). Projected image is around 130", and I can assure you it's quite an awesome experience, I recommend it if any of you have a spare white wall.

However, this forces me to use a controller due to the fact that I'm on the couch and not at my desk. This can be annoying for shooters, for example the new DooM is completely unplayable on a controller. When that happens, I use my good old 24" LCD (it's a Samsung, don't recall the name). Not as spectacular, but does the job.

I use a semi-dual monitor setup: my main screen is 29'', and I use my laptop screen as a smaller, second monitor. For instance, while playing strategy games on my main screen, I like to also have an e-sports stream running on my secondary screen.

27" 1440p 165htz ips at my desk.
Samsung 55" series 8 in lounge
Epson projector in theatre (around 120")

Unless I'm playing Super smash brothers or other Wii u titles with friends on projector the 27" is the best experience.

I had a benq 120htz before this but cannot go back to 1080p or TN panels. Best money I ever spent on that monitor even if it was overpriced.

Also, for anyone on 60htz and thinking of going higher, do it. I can no longer play on a 60htz screen, I can literally see it "skipping frames".

Full disclosure, I do get use to the 60htz again after a while but the difference is amazing

@ampee, 1080gtx struggling on 1080p?? What games do you play? I have a 1080 with my 1440p and it runs everything fine. There may be some shit console ports but I haven't really played them. A 1080 will run almost anything well over 60fps.

Got a 27" 165hz G-Sync IPS on one PC and a 46" Samsung SPVA TV on another. Much prefer the former, mostly due to high refresh rate G-Sync. The 46" does give a nice sense of scale to things like architecture and landscapes, though. Also has vastly better contrast and black level.

22 inch 16:10, with native 1680x1050, so I have free AA in every game as I downsample from 1920x1200.

Viewsonic from 2008. the only older piece of hardware I still use in the PC, is the x-fi extreme gamer I got in 2007, while I still had a CRT.

Not moving to a higher res until the upgrade cycle for 1440p can be stretched out to 2 GPU generations, which is not the case yet.

I think it's kind of funny how you distinguish between 40, 42, 46 and 49 inches, but you just group all 20-30 inch monitors into one category. Kinda makes the poll very limited in my opinion

It's a good topic but the poll questions are awful... Playing at 100"+ is not uncommon these days since projectors are usually very cheap in comparsion to e.g a 70" TV.

20-30 and then 40+.. a lot of us have 32-34" monitors so we are completely excluded.. i can't vote for anything since nothing reflects what i use Laughing
