But I see why you get confused with the American date logic MM/DD/YYYY
The date aligns closely with PS+ so it makes sense I guess. Not overly excited about it, the "PS+ Version" will probably only have 2 cars and 2 tracks.
I have been vocally against PS+ versions of games - it's Sony's way of avoiding us getting full games on PS+... I hope it isn't a pattern they continue.

ok let's clear up some confusion here.
An Evolution rep stated that the PS Plus edition lacks "a few assets, such as cars and tracks, that will be found in the full version." There will still be plenty of content, however. "The online multiplayer, the asynchronous challenges and the single player campaign will all be present in the PS Plus version."

you do realize we get this on release day, and not 6-12 months down the line? i think it's perfectly fair for them to have slightly cut version as PS+ version on release day. this doesn't mean that in 6-12 months PS+ subscribers won't get full normal version like any other game.
April the 9th, only 5 weeks to wait... awesome!!! I just bought a PS4 with 2 controllers and 4 games (CODG, BF4, FIFA14 and Madden25) for $400 CAD off craigslist.
I'm not into sports games so I traded FIFA and Madden for Drive Club

So what about the online multiplayer / challenges etc. My point here is that it's highly likely there will only be a few tracks and cars to play online/challenge with.

But what you're missing is the fact that every time Sony do this, we lose out on another game that month. At the moment this isn't a big deal as there aren't many good A+ titles out. But in a year or two, I could easily see PS+ becoming the "play some of the game that came out this month, pay for the rest, and don't get any full games any more" that I think it will.
you seem to miss the fact that you get to play almost complete version of the game on release day for free, and you can upgrade to complete version for probably 20$. it's still amazing deal, can't believe some people think this is bad

"almost complete" remains to be seen. If they include 80% of cars and tracks, then fine - I stand corrected. I have a STRONG suspicion that they won't. It'll probably be like 20%.
So, they're changing the whole concept of the game and rule out a 2014 release for sure. I doubt this will be released even in 2015. "Back to the drawing board"?? This means only the title will stay the same and the game in this current state is a mess.
Remember also that this one was supposed to be a PS4 launch title...
Are the microtransactions in this "pay to play" or just cosmetic and minor stuff ? I,m thinking the former because this seem too big of a game to be free without restraints but i'm hoping for the latter.
Shadow of Mordor needs to be horrible just because they're making a joke of the LotR lore.
And this one I've lost all excitement about; supposed to be a launch title, coming almost a year after launch now. Instead, they decide around the same time as Project CARS

i've been gaming for majority of my life and people still act like 5 year olds when a game is delayed. "you delayed the game?! how dare you? now i won't play it!"
some things just never change

There's a difference between delaying a game and delaying a game which you announce with a crazy amount of pooha, constantly emphasising the platform it runs on and that it's a launch title for 6 months...until said launch actually comes around and you first delay by a month, then go as vague as somewhere in an entire quarter, only to end up with a delay of almost a full year because you supposedly "went back to the drawing board"
And I somehow just really doubt it will measure up to Project CARS (and no, I don't mean the visuals).

There is no comparison with PCars. This one is entirely different (in a bad way ofc). It's like a Racing MMO with teams, heavy social features and microtransactions. Let's hope I am wrong.
Well I'm obviously talking specifically about the driving model, I'm pretty sure it'll be the same shit as NFS, which is basically Ridge Racer. And that in a realistic setting is retarded

no, it's not. i played it at gamescom last year, and while things might have changed a bit, it was nowhere near the NFS driving model. i actually tried driving like in NFS and hit every wall dead-on.
