Who knows. It is in the hands of a once-capable director. I have the slightest of hopes that this will be back to the epic we've seen Scott with Kingdom of Heaven (pre-Fox fuck up cut). Unlike recent biblical attempts, this tale actually has the potential to be good. Not sure if Scott is capable still, but I do hope so. Recent forays such as Robin Hood and Prometheus have been very disappointing.

From the writers of Tower Heist Reaction

I hope Steven Zaillian had the most input.

First we have Aronofsky directing Noah, now we have Ridley Scott directing a movie about Moses. What's next, David Lynch directing a movie about Adam and Eve?...

I would like to see a Terrence Malick version of Adam and Eve's story.

Or maybe Lars von Trier Cool Face

Lars von Trier would certainly make something notoriously shocking about it! Laughing

Well well well, I guess this could be interesting under certain circumstances Razz
...because I'm a Christian...

..Bale fan

Though I fear that Ridley will choose teh traditional classic bible approach which is the one that puts me off. We'll see!

Laughing

Given how oversensitive muslims are about depicting Muhammad, just imagine how much twists their knickers would get into if they showed Allah. Very Happy

Anyhow, love this new trend of bible movies. Finally they get their place among other mythologies, worthy of making a dumb summer bluckbuster out of. Smile

I'm sure in von Trier's version of Adam and Eve, Adam will be a cuckold who enjoys watching angels gangbang Eve, who is a "free spirit".

I bet it will win every cinema award in the world.

Believable and relatable...Yep, sounds like Call of Duty

well, "the 10 commandments" was pretty epic and from all the crap stories in the bible, the one of moses (exodus) is actually the most worthwhile (to read). It surely makes a better movie then a dumb story about an arch ^^.

And you don't have to believe in god or whatever in order to enjoy such a movie.

You don't have to believe in anything in order to enjoy a well crafted story, even if it is biblical. The problem is, most stories from the bible are not well crafted, like Noah, which is a terrible moral story.

yeah, like i said. But the exodus book is pretty well written and it's an interesting story. I read the bible when i was young (more to see what all the fuzz was about rofl) and when it comes to well written fiction, exodus is really worth it. Of course it could also be, because i actually read genesis before that rofl.

i m sure there is going to be some not so subtle commentary as a nod to the current state of affairs between israel and palestine shoehorned in, to make the movie feel more relevant.
while moses is butchering canaanites, the camera will zoom on a dead one´s keffiyeh or something like that.

this movie is going to offend everyone Laughing
