Yaiba: Ninja Gaiden Z will be released in early 2014, and Tecmo Koei has announced it will be heading to PC via Steam. Yaiba is in development with Team Ninja’s Yosuke Hayashi and Comcept’s Keiji Inafune, and features a world where ninja meets undead warriors and features cybernetic weapons. Along with PC, the game is slated for release on PS3 and Xbox 360.
Tecmo Koei has let the world know Keiji Infafune’s Ninja Gaiden spinoff, Yaiba: Ninja Gaiden Z will be bringing its lovely cell-shaded style to North America on March 4th next year. In Europe the over the top game will be launching half a week earlier, on the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and surprisingly PC.
Apparently the good Ninja Gaiden games still didn't sold enough copies, now they need to streamline it further and westernize it to appeal to the audience outside of Japan. I made this assumption because I don't see any other reason why this would happen to Ninja Gaiden. It had fitting art style, the combat was hard but good, the gameplay was smooth and visceral. They were good games. I haven't had the chance to try 3 so I don't WTF happened to that one. But this? WTF is this? its like DmC all over again.
Looks fun, probably tramples all over the Ninja Gaiden franchise though but I haven't checked to see what the feedback on the game is in the console section.
