“20,000 Above” is a game set in a fictional world of floating islands, far up in the sky. You’re the captain of an airship and its crew, on a steampunk voyage across the seven skies. You’ll find success through missions, trading, resource gathering or freebooting. The game is currently in development by our small indie team at That Brain.
20,000 Leagues Above the Clouds is in development for Windows PC and Mac, though the video says that other platforms. "We focus primarily on making an deep, open world single-player experience. If it’s successful we would love to expand it with both co-op and player-versus-player (PVP) modes later" says one of developers.
Estimate date: 2014

20,000 Leagues Above the Clouds is in development and our preliminary plan is to complete an early prototype for public view the first half of 2013. We’re in no hurry though, the game will receive the love it deserves before we try to sell it to anyone.
Throughout the game you will find ports where you can dock for supplies and upgrades. Here you will meet friendly as well as shady characters presenting you with their stories. As you learn more from conversations with your newfound cohorts and competitors, you gradually gain an understanding of how this strange world is held together, and how it came to be.
You choose your own name, gender and portrait when creating your captain. Through your actions you will also to an extent choose your captain’s personality – be it friendly, fearsome or flirtatious. Your dialog choices may have effects on alliances and gameplay outcomes, and could include subjects as diverse as romance and piracy premeditations.
20,000 Above is controlled in a style similar to top-down games such as Starcraft or League of Legends , but with some big differences. The game has simple click-to-move controls with a number of added abilities based on your ship and crew. The world however is fully 3d, with several levels of gameplay… much like a layer cake! From your vantage point in the sky, you can see ships move and interact on levels below, but you can only reach them once your ship is ready for the added pressure.

Graphics absolutely need some work (especially motion for the ships) and besides the airships there is nothing that remotely resembles the steampunk era, but it can be decent if they add some more things to do than just destroying and capturing ships. Seems to lack gameplay a lot at the moment, but I'll keep an eye out for this.
We've been hard at work updating the visual style of 20,000 Above. Here's a peek at the results! Our next step is to focus on gameplay and prepare for some public testing. Want to join in? Sign up to try the game! - http://20000above.com/
apparently the studio consist the devs from Media Molecule and Grin who worked on LittleBigPlanet 2, Bionic Commando: Rearmed, and the 3D Bionic Commando reboot.
If this was just PVP/MP only then pfffft, but seeing as the base game focuses on SP? Signed up! This sounds like it could be great and I have absolutely no problem with click to move. Though seeing this just makes me sad that the oft-rumoured "Skies of Arcadia: HD" never surfaced
Signature/Avatar nuking: none (can be changed in your profile)
