So i've been thinking of getting a new capture device for PS3/4 to do recordings for youtube. The thing is...i can't decide wich one to get (Reliable, Future proof, compatible with Windows 7/8/8.1..)..There's the ElGato Game Capture HD and the Avermedia Live Game Portable.

The things i wanna know are...

-I'd mainly record in 720p@30FPS (Because of Youtube). How many GB would a 30min vid with that quality take in my HDD approximatedly?.. (Just incase i need a bigger HDD like 2-3TB WD.Actually with an HDD with XP/Fraps+Pinnacle Studio 12's recordings)

-Wich one would allow me to stream via Twitch?

-Is there an option to record a gameplay with the capture device while using a Webcam and a headset AT THE SAME TIME?..And,if possible, once a recording's finished, they give you the vid/headset's mic/webcam files SEPARATEDLY to do a montage later... ? (Yeah, kinda like the Pewdiepie guy on Youtube)

-If the Live@Twitch option is avaliable and you start a Live session, once it's over, can you keep what you've did in your PC just incase someone missed it and you end up uploading it on youtube?

-Any recommended webcams?, all i see are Logitech ones but they seem to be great (on Newegg).. But ofcourse, i'd like one with a good framerate that'd kinda match the video's speed i'm doing..again,like the pewdiepie guy (Guy uses either an HD Handycam with a stand or a great framerate cam with smoothness.. Back in time i had a Logitech cam that was slow as fuck, like stuttering)

-Anything else i should know?

Also, PS4 now can have it's HDCP disabled for longer runs, another reason to get the devices.. But will the device's "Special PS3 cable" to be used in a PS4?, or would it be recommended to buy an HDMI cable for the PS4?

Thanks in advance, and sorry if some questions doesn't makes sense or sounds impossible..

"There's no way to connect this to the computer", also, you need to connect an SSD to make it work (even if an external 3.0 HDD is good also?..) ??

Not the thing i'm looking for...I actually use an old Pinnacle Moviebox HD (Yellow/Red/White cables for TV recording mainly) and it's an external device.. I don't mind another one on the table..

But what are the differences between the LGP and this one?..Pros and Cons?

Does ANY HDMI Splitter will work to bypass the PS3 protection for the LGP (even the LGP LITE) ...or what?...

if you had read those reviews , you would know the component side of this was the solution for HDCP... it also added a side effect ...that every thing that has a component cable can also be also used by this so ... PS2 , Wii , PSP , XBOX etc.. and you can hook it up with the HMDI pass tough to your HD TV and have a ... UPSCALER that has a 30-22ms lag Laughing grinhurt thats the ... WOW factor in this

in plain words : PS3 component signal is not protected ! anything that can capture component , can capture a PS3 video signal ... heck back before BD rips , this was the only way to pirate BD movies

have a ps3 rent a movie , hook up your component capture , profit ... i seen so many DVD9 for 1/4 the price on flea markets it was CRAZY...

When you said component i tought for a moment it was one of those... "Red White Green Blue etc" cables, but then i've remembered this

For a moment i forgot that the LGP came with that "Component cable" from the tutorial and instead it BITCHSLAPPED YOU to force you buy that coloured component cable

Aka buy the LGP and record straight out of the box....Right?

With the video method above, will i still get that "lag" from the PS3 or something?.. I mean, i'd use the PC Recording mode (NOT THE PC FREE MODE) and play by looking at the TV while the PC Records...

huh ???
the box and even unboxing vids show its got all cables

uhm yeah you can say... buy it and record straight out of the box ... just add a SD or a external

about lag , YES...but only if you record and that 30ms is DAMN ... you will not even notice

no lag if you get a splitter and plug that straight into TV ...

about that how much it will be on HDD ... it depends on your CODECs , Bitrate and FPS..

i did some walktoughs and 30K bitrate capture of 15 min takes +/- 7gigs ... 500K bitrate of 1 min took 32 gigs ...grinhurt

2TB is a OK for 20 to 30hours of 30K ... that would be 1TB ... and a tip splinter that files

28 gig = 1h at 30K

oh and yes you have to buy a longer HDMI cable...
so you get this and you get a upscaler , HDCP BD pirate device and PC/console game capture device Smile
