Kurt Sutter’s follow-up drama to Sons Of Anarchy is officially a go at FX. The cable network has picked up Sutter’s gritty Late Middle Ages drama pilot The Bastard Executioner to series with a 10-episode order.
The quality is a bit meh.I guess it hasn't been posted "officially" yet
PS Tbh I'm a bit disappointed. It looks kinda cheap and I expected a spiritual successor to the best medieval film of all time "Flesh & Blood" but atm it doesn't look the part. Well, I hope a "full" trailer will be better.
..Just imagine Flesh & Blood The Series on Cinemax\STARZ\HBO This one is on FX network, so it'll have violence and gore all right but most likely no boobs and shit lol Flesh& Blood was just perfect in that regard.. gritty, dark and had great "dirty" sex scenes ..
only one season was good of sons and it was the first one.
everything after that was all style over substance.
this he seems to follow the exact same formula of the last seasons of sons...
shoot shit, filter it, make it look good. who cares about everything else.
Ugh. It literally looks like a youtube show with the quality.
They could fix to a certain degree this if they used some sweetfx preset but it wouldn't help with lack of polygons, somewhat boring gameplay and uninspired locations
The first scene made me cringe so hard I was afraid I'll crack my spine or smth
But later it kinda grew on me. It's not that bad, as far as pilots go. There's a certain cheap feel to it and some lines scream "B-movie!!!" - and hard, but both things aren't overly prevalent. It's also rather gruesome and brutal, more so than I expected (cheaper-than-wise CGI doesn't help either ). There are some relatively promising characters and even a bit of intrigue. And
Spoiler:
Some mystical-magical shit I didn't expect at all
All in all - who knows, might be worth trying out.
After all these horrendous promos I expected something much worse than what I've just watched
It was OKeish.
- Lots of violence : blood,a child killed, a pregnant woman killed (we see her opened belly and her unborn child), some torture, men killed in different ways
- a bit of very mild nudity,a man on man buttfucking action(almost no nudity)
- OKeish acting
- story wise...it's too soon to tell..
- production values seem cheapish..
- I didn't like the lead actor....he seems kinda..wooden? I dunno..maybe he'll get better..
- Vampire Bill was.. well.. Vampire Bill..with a twist!

Spoiler:
@Aquma
Yeah I didn't expect to see dat
Spoiler:
demon
or whatever it was lol
Anyways, I'll give the next episodes a try coz I really like this time period and there is some promising stuff here that is if they don't fuck it up.
