Hello everyone, this is my 2nd NfoHump account. Stating everything upfront for transparency.

I’ve lost access to the Gmail account tied to my previous NfoHump account as well as the NfoHump password - in the first week of April 2024 with the HDD having died.
This Gmail account was a secondary email account under a primary Gmail account.
Once upon a time, I remembered both the passwords for these Gmail accounts like the back of my hand. But at one point, I chose to use AI generated uber sophisticated passwords, for the aforementioned 2 Google accounts, which then I couldn’t remember anymore and had to be saved somewhere. I chose the HDD to save it in. Silly me.
The primary Gmail account password was saved in the HDD and the secondary Gmail account password along with the NfoHump password were saved in the Google Password manager under the primary Google account with the Recovery Gmail accounts pointing to each other - the death loop. That is, losing access to the primary Gmail account would lock me out of both the Gmail accounts.
I just forgot to backup the primary Gmail account password in writing somewhere other than the HDD. I always thought that a HDD dying would send warnings in the Event Viewer logs before finally going kaput. But this 10 year old HDD sent nothing. Thanks Western Digital. First time experience for everything I guess. The price of becoming complacent.
To summarize: the main reasons as to why I lost my Gmail access:
- Not saving the ~17 year old Gmail account password anywhere else other than the HDD.
- Using the wrong email address for the Recovery Email address.
- Not having the Phone Number Recovery setup.
- Severe reluctance on my part to use a personal cell phone, in general.
I don’t post much in NfoHump because I’m very busy with work and personal studies but having no NfoHump account access is too fucking depressing that I can’t be dealing with right now.
Also, I should add that I’ve lost cloud access to work related data and access to user accounts in other websites with passwords saved under the primary Google account Password Manager.
Some private info about my previous account:
- I had never been banned on that account.
- Previous account was registered with the Gmail beardblack . . . @gmail.com
The purpose of this thread is to clear up everything for transparency since multiple same user accounts are unwelcome here. Thing is, since I don’t have access to the Gmail account the previous NfoHump account is tied to, I therefore don’t want that NfoHump account anymore.
Since 2010, pretty much everyday, I’ve been visiting NfoHump made amazing by all the amazing people here. NfoHump is my primary social media platform.
Dear NfoHump Gods, just please don’t ban this 2nd account. Registering new email accounts nowadays cost phone number verifications and/or links with reputable email addresses from Google, Microsoft, etc. which isn’t easy.

(Off to sleep, been awake for a long while. I’d have posted before if not for the forum-new-user Waiting Period. Will get back at around the 15th+ hour from now. Hopefully, this account will prevail or I’m doomed.)

This reads like a missing password to a crypto wallet. Btw there are temp email services you can use to register accounts just don't lose your passwords.

I tried changing email addresses and passwords via the backend but it throws errors so...if you are happy just to have the secondary account, just go ahead and use it
