It might be fun. I'm surprised Microsoft scored deal with Platinum Games.
I wonder how much Microsoft had to pay for it. /shrug
Quite pathetic indeed if the only way they can secure games on their platform is just to shell so much $$$$.
Microsoft has removed all trailers of Scalebound from its Xbox YouTube page following news of the game's cancellation earlier in the evening.
Twitter posts from the official Scalebound account and Xbox Live head honcho Larry "Major Nelson" Hryb link to Scalebound trailers that are marked as either removed or made private.
Cancelling a highly promoted AAA game after four years of work is an already unprecedented move, but removing footage of its existence is especially odd. Perhaps it's a licensing issue?
We’re sorry to say that on January 9, 2017, Microsoft Studios announced the cancellation of Scalebound. We are very disappointed things ended up this way, especially since we know many of our fans were looking forward to this game as much as we were.
Going forward, we will strive to continue delivering high-quality games to you, starting with NieR:Automata in March, and including products like GRANBLUE FANTASY Project Re:Link and LOST ORDER in the future.
We will keep working hard to meet your expectations and we look forward to your continued support!
PlatinumGames has expressed interest in revisiting its cancelled Xbox exclusive Scalebound one day, and opening discussions with Microsoft’s gaming CEO Phil Spencer.
