http://www.daedalic.de/en/game/Bounty_Train
Release: Early Access: 8/17/2015; full release: Q4, 2015

Quote:
Bounty Train is a complex, tactically challenging game. The player has to keep many balls in the air -- dealing with real time skirmishes with bandits, trading good for the best prices, resource management, train optimization and keeping the line (and train) in good repair. In addition, Bounty Train confronts the player with historical events, from the onset of the Civil War to the assassination of Abraham Lincoln -- and depending on player choices and performance, the course of history may be changed.

Bounty Train borrows elements from many genres and uses them to build a greater whole, a new unique strategy game experience. A masterpiece for strategy fans everywhere.

Bounty Train takes place in the America of the 1860s, the player is the son of a Railroad Tycoon out to fulfil his dead father’s grand dream: an unbroken train line across America. But his former partners have other plans in store, and the building of the line becomes a desperate race to prevent a great evil.

Key Features
    - Assemble and control a real-life steam train
    - Gather, manage and control a crew
    - Overcome road difficulties - chases, ambushes, lack of time and coal and train malfunctions
    - Explore America (the US 1860-1868), visit real cities, trade goods and deliver cargo
    - Thrilling non-linear stroyline - find your family and save Native Americans from relocation
    - Select from four major playable factions - change allegiances as you play
    - Encounter real historical events and inventions which affect gameplay

Up on RIN. Be prepared, this is ALPHA.. the tutorial (yanno, the thing that explains how to play a complex tactical RPG with reliance on trading) is all of two sentences and that's it. It just dumps you into the game and says "glhf!"

~edit~

Ah! It was a bug Laughing I restarted the game and now I'm getting/seeing the full tutorial. Sheesh. Oh and apparently a patch is being worked on that improves the beginning of the game, because right now the bandits/indians take too much damage, deal out too much damage, and can't be bargained with grinhurt Oh and holy typos, Batman!

It also needs one hell of a balancing patch, since the starting areas are incredibly unbalanced. The devs said they're working on it right now, hoping to fine-tune the beginning of the game, so I'll pick it back up then Smile Right now it's damned hard to make any kind of headway due to the obscenely low profit you make from shipping between the first 3 states, coupled with the bandits/Indians attacks, and the coal costs.

Any news when this will leave EA?

As "full release: Q4, 2015" is over already.

Bounty Train is about to be released!
16 MAY - DAEDALIC_CYRIN
Hey everyone, after nearly one and a half years in Early Access, we are very happy Bounty Train is about to be released today officially Very Happy

With the release version we tried to tighten some of the loose ends of story and gameplay, expanded the game content and got rid of a lot of bugs. Please have a look at the changelog below, for additional information.

Changelog Update 09 (Release Version):
  • New Content: We added over 20 new quests, expanding the main story and adding new side stories for you to discover. We added new job offers and mixed up existing quest lines for some additional variation.
  • More freedom: We looked into additional options for how to play the game. For example, you now will be able to rob camps yourself, if that’s the way you want to roll.
Steam Achievements added: 30 achievements are now available, test your skill and unlock them!
  • Languages added: We updated the supported languages with this update: French, Polish, Spanish, traditional Chinese, simplified Chinese, updated English, updated German, updated Ukrainian and updated Russian are now available.
  • Soundtrack: The soundtrack is now available for all Trainium Edition owners. To access the soundtrack, start the application and select “Bonus Content”.
  • Bug fixes: We were able to resolve a lot of issues you reported to us – thanks a lot for your help!

[Release: Early Access: 8/17/2015; full release: Q4, 2015]

Actual full release date? Q2 20 fucking 17

Milked that shit for a full two fucking years before the tit had finally run dry.
