"Runemaster is an RPG set in a fantasy realm based in the rich, majestic traditions of Norse mythology, casting each player in the role of a unique champion in a time of chaotic upheaval. Procedural maps and quests will ensure that no two playthroughs are identical, allowing players to tell a saga that is uniquely their own. Explore vast vistas through the six worlds of Norse myth, command troops in tactical combat, and define your champion through the choices they make."

Weeee! So few RPGs based on Norse mythology - Loki was the last one I truly enjoyed and still do to this day, I recently grabbed a steam copy but the damned game doesn't display the videos properly on new hardware/OSes Sad

Anyone remember when Human Head was posting info about a possible Rune sequel on their Facebook page? I wonder what happened to it.

There's no excuse for a game looking like that in 2014, there are indie games and mods with 0 budget that looks much, much better.

Looks great to me, I just hope it's not yet another party-based turn-based strategy-based whatever-based RPG, which I think it is... I for one am not the biggest fan of that kind of RPGs and even though there are tons of RPGs on the horizon right now, the kind I really like, not so much.

They are using the same engine that powers CK2 and EU4, so no surprise there.

Not too happy about the looks, but in the end that really comes second. I am however really happy about the setting, sounds very interesting and kinda unique.

Looks like Heroes of Might and Magic III, which was release in 1999.

If it plays well, then np for me, but yea graphs could be a bit better. Maybe this was the reason why there wasn't any gameplay videos so far . . .

Even a game made with, let's say the Gothic 2 engine, could be made absolutely stunning looking with the right artists and with higher poly count than what was used back then. Using a crappy engine matters maybe 10%. I guess they're aiming for Pentium 2 compability or something (looking at the poly count) Laughing great, they'll satisfy ~0.01% of their player base.

more like a game from 2006 ... Rolling Eyes if it would be 1999 then it would be a pixel art game with isometric view

Titan Quest 2006

Dungeon Siege 2002

Darkstone 1999

Hexplore 1998

Diablo 1996

Ultima VIII: Pagan 1994

each game was GOTY in its years and called a marvel of graphical achievement
