Quote:
The listing has since been removed, but Amazon has posted some details of a new video game based on the Transformers Franchise. The title of the game is "Transformers: Rise Of The Dark Spark" and was listed under XBox360, WiiU, Playstation 4 and Nintendo 3DS.

"Product Description
The next installment in the incredible Transformers gaming franchise, Transformers: Rise of the Dark Spark is an exciting action game that is perfect for veteran fans and newcomers. "

We currently do not know whether this is a Transformers: Age Of Extinction tie-in game, War For Cybertron 3 or a new game altogether.

No PC version in the listing, but we'll see.

TWIN PEAKS is "something of a miracle."
"...like nothing else on television."
"a phenomenon."
"A tangled tale of sex, violence, power, junk food..."
"Like Nothing On Earth"

Since Activision said "fuck you, you're not good enough!" to High Moon, this will probably be shit regardless if it is or not a tie-in game. I hate Activision. Sad

Why bring the movie versions of these characters into the game to ruin it, they should have used the Transformers Prime versions for the ones on Earth.

dark spark? DARK. SPARK?

whoever came up with that rhyming title for a game that doesn't want to be a joke in itself, they should be feeling very bad about themselves.

mind you, not as bad as whatever dropkick OKAYED that title...

hark.. is that the dark spark, mark? what a lark to hide it in the park!

I guess it was bound to happen, going to Earth and all... I hope they will keep the interaction with humans to a minimum if there will even be any. So that doesn't look that bad since it's using the same version of Transformers that the previous games created, but... who's actually making this again?! What studio?!

'Transformers: Rise of the Dark Spark' will run alongside the new film, Age of Extinction, the representative said, and will be "marrying two different universes, the Tranformers Cybertron universe and the Michael Bay Transformers universe," and players will get to experience characters from both environments.

High Moon Studios, who developed Transformers: War for Cybertron and Fall of Cybertron, is not developing Rise of the Dark Spark. Edge of Reality, who previously worked on the Mass Effect Trilogy and Dragon Age: Origins, are developing Transformers: Rise of the Dark Spark

Huh, what those guys actually made is Loadout. Everything else before that were just different console versions of other devs' games as far as I understand. In any case, Loadout is very well put together, but I don't really like it, can't even say why because I don't know. They're capable of pulling this off. However, I'm not sure how they can handle a singleplayer game and with what huge mark High Moon left on me with Fall of Cybertron, I'm expecting at least that kind of quality. And then there's the other problem... the two universes merged. Can I just ask... WHY?! High Moon managed to recreate the Transformers universe in a really cool way, only for it to now be merged with the Bayformers crap?! Ugh, just fuck off, Activision. Sad

Transformers: Rise of the Dark spark is slated to launch on June 24th for Xbox 360, Xbox One, PS3, PS4, Wii U, 3DS and PC. Activision announced some special bonuses for gamers who pre-order their copy through GameStop. You'll get the Weathered Warrior Pack DLC which includes Decepticon characters Thundercracker and Skywarp.

With them comes two new weapons the distortion field-generating Glass Gas Cannon and the kinetic projectile firing Electro Bolter. You can use the weapons in both the campaign or in Escalation mode. But it is worth mentioning this DLC is NOT available for Wii U versions of the game, and that there is a 3DS version of the game but it has a different rating, so I'm guessing it also has some altered gameplay.

Rise of the Dark Spark will be a follow-up to the movie as well as previous titles War for Cybertron and Fall of Cybertron. The Transformers are hunting for the ancient relic known as the Dark Spark, and once again you'll play as both Autobots and Decepticons in the campaign. There will be over 40 playable characters along with the shooting and vehicle mechanics from previous games.

Weird, u$s 50 here.

Still, an activision game that is not u$s 60, must be bad Sad

The fact that edge of reality made it, is a good thing, but it looks so cheap and bland compared to fall of cybertron. Sad

From various impressions I've gathered around the web it seems like a fun game but nowhere near the quality and level design of Fall Of Cybertron. With GAS and Valiant Hearts on the way I don't think I'll even bother downloading this one here.
