Anyone here with PC Case knowledge?

My old one is starting to rot and houses more spiders than pc components.

So, I'm looking for a decent sized case, and as a specialty I'd like it to have some gimmick for installing new parts in (maybe just for harddisk). Such as; the harddisk rack is on hinges or something, and if you remove cables from existing drives you could very easily add new stuff in.
In my current I cannot access most of the rackspace because my cpu cooler is blocking it totally Razz

And I'd like some magic for the cables in general. Mine's like the deepest hell for cables.

ps. I don't care about the price (can be 50€, can be 500€) (better towards the lower end of course Smile )

Corsair makes great cases
they have great cable management, great airflow, almost every panel is easily removable with thumb screws, removable slide out hard drive bays and so on.

their top of the line and most feature rich cases are Obsidian http://www.corsair.com/en/cases/obsidian-series
but there are also plenty cheaper models.

ok this sounded like an ad but i really love my corsair case Very Happy

My two choices would be NZXT and Corsair Smile

My Phantom's going on 4 years now and I have no intention of replacing it; only thing I'm considering is replacing the front (well, top) I/O panel with a newer model that has USB3 Razz

Yea, checked those, they seem sturdy and have some expansion slots in the bottom.
Though not that many, the smaller ones (950D is way too big for under my desk Razz) It seems like the medium sized ones fit just 7 3.5" disks.

I'm already using 5 slots and will probably need to expand soon. My current one theoretically fits 15 or so, but dues to cable hell and the impossibility of removing the rack for easy install, I used my last available slot with the 5th drive (without dismantling cpu fan and case fans).

...

well investigated a bit more and Obsidian Series® 550D Mid-Tower Quiet Case seems like it would do fine for me. Will just have to figure out whether it fits my cooler (Noctua NH-U12S 158 mm)

The fractal design define r4 is also a nice silence optimized case

Very satisfied with mine. Not to mention solidly built. My old Cooler Master was a flimsy POS by comparison.

Yes, yes I'm back.

Fractal is great. Running their R4 atm. Strangely, they haven't announced an R5 yet.

I bought myself just yesterday a Corsair 330R and I'm loving it so far. Silent and spacey, decent cable management and purrrty.

Here's hoping after a few months of use it won't look as horrible as my old CM 690 II looked, all dusty in the mesh grill. Clean lines for me please!

NZXT SWITCH!!

Everything is removable without popping out rivets. They used screws in everything so the customers could basically remove stuff they didn't need as they wished without going through the trouble of drilling out rivets.

Also what I built my system inside of. Of all the cases I've had over the years, even Lian Li, the switch 810 is by far the best case I've ever worked with. They have some staff on the overclock.net forums and they take in opinions about cases for their next builds, and one of our complaints was about how little room on the backside there is to hide cables. So when they made the Switch 810, they made the back side a little more open than what other cases offer so you can run whatever it is you want on the back without needing to cram it all into one place.

Slick, quiet and nothing fancy like glass panel or whatever useless thing that I don't need. Very Happy

Damn Spikez that an awesome case, I'll look into that one for my next build.

For now Corsair Carbide series is nice enough for me.

Yup, use the NZXT myself, made life so much easier when building. This thing literally can be taken apart to nothing, and fits my triple rad in top with ease Smile Only gripe I have about it, is that they made the 5.25 plate non-removable, which is a bummer, as it half covers one of my fans on the rad, but its no big deal. Great case! Very Happy
