Used to smoke then I quit. It was a peer-pressure thing. Then I switched friends and now I just drink :D

I've smoked since 16. I usually only smoked around 1/2 pack per day (Canadian packs have 25 smokes in them).

My first attempt to quit was my first year of uni, when I was 19. I really suck at quitting btw. Now 25, I have anywhere from 1-10 smokes per week. I'd like to quit for good, but I drink a lot. That leads to more smoking.

I've been smoking for....fuck, 11 years...no 13 years now
1 1/2 pack a day
I guess I started smoking because of family shit in primary school
by highschool, i was addicted and, whether is correct or not, it helped me with my stress
Then as an adult, again the stress factor....nothing beats sittin on the stoop with a smoke after a bitching fest from ur wife ya know? Gives u time to chill, think things over...im a hot headed type of guy so I need something to draw me away from the fight or I'll explode and keep arguing lol
Personally, I enjoy smoking even tho its killer
I mean, u gotta die of something right?
and look at native indians, well, the ones i know anyway
they drink a 40 ouncer of rye a day and smoke serious cancer sticks and live well into their 90's.

Smoking at a young age is a pain in the ass. I remember standing by 7/11 asking people to buy me a pack hahaha and once a while someone bought it for me. I used to steal fags from m’mums purse… then I was caught once… haha

It's a pain in the ass smoking at a young age :D but it sure is a thrill.
Now the thrill is gone :(

I dont smoke and its pretty good considerin all my house smokes and have since I was young. I dont really feel the need to smoke and as for peer pressure that's bullshit. Quite a lot of my friends smoke and you can still speak to them even if they have a fag in their hand or not. To just dis-associate yourself with smokers is kinda shallow really.
1 thing i do hate though is girl smokers, it puts me right off them especially when kissing them. not only does it fuck all teeth (an important feature for me) but it makes their breath stink and their mounths feel "fluffy-ish". I just dont like it at all Smile

Smoking suck.

About Hitman: Movie (2007)
Vin Diesel is a hardcore gamer, and absolutely loves the Hitman series. For that reason I have faith that he wont destroy the movie.

Response: Well, Uwe Boll probably loved the Alone in the Dark games.

I quit for almost 5 yrs then went to Dominican Rep. (free 24 booze & dirt cheap cigs) Sad there were a few other factors as well.

Will quit again when I want to. atm I enjoy smoking as it gives me something to do when I'm bored + I'm now in really good shape (not an ounce of fat on me) & yes, I know how stupid that sounds, destroying my insides to look good on the outside but I couldn't give a toss atm Smile

I don't smoke (only some weed on occasion). I actually am one of those 'activists' who pull a sigaret out of someones mouth and throws it on the ground.
3 of my friends have recently read that 'quit with smoking' book ( I dont know the title) and apparently it does work because they already have quit for quite some time now.

If u ever pulled a smoke I was smoking out of my mouth, especially if its my last one or im smoking after/while drinking or blazing, I'd break ur face man - like by the time u got the smoke on the ground, u'd be beside it
U only do that to friend's tho right?

I had a guy do that to me in a club one time and the above is what happened to him.

Sounds like a good idea.

And if someone would try and start a fight, I could always tell them that Pizda2 likes bananas, and they'd be distracted by all their rolling on the floor, laughing.

Yes, yes I'm back.

The reason you're in that chair not doing shit is because you've spent your entire life smoking, eating like a pig and not doing any physical activity.

Now some people will get lucky -- those who win the genetics lottery. Maybe they won't suffer from cancer or other degenerative conditions. But they are indeed the minority. The rest of us actually have to worry about this stuff Very Happy

But real, if ur at a bus stop, u should move
cuz smoking is legal, so he has no incentive to move, whether ur being affected or not - u on the other hand, do have incentive, not to inhale second hand

nouseforaname, why should I get addicted? As I wrote, I don't understand why people smoke, when they know they'll become addicted. Sure, some might not know, but most smoking people I know, knew it.

I do however understand why they continue smoking, after they're addicted, I'm not stupid. So yeah, i'll "tell you again" then, I don't really understand why people even start...

I'm not even sure why I started smoking. Because it gave me something to do at lunchtime in high school? Because it was against the law to smoke underage? Because my parents smoked? Because people in movies and on TV are always smoking? Because my friends started smoking? Because it goes well with a beer?

Whatever the reason, I still started

I found a study of 21000 adolescents in the US (Journal of Clinical and Consulting Psychology) ...

Quote:
Students who had at least two friends who smoked were more than six times as likely to transition from experimental smokers (don't smoke regularly) to intermittent smokers (smoking between one and 29 days out of the past 30).

And these adolescents were almost 10 times as likely to transition from intermittent smokers to regular smokers (those that smoked everyday for the past 30 days).

Parental smoking increased the odds of an adolescent being in a higher rather than a lower smoking stage, according to the study.

Maternal smoking had no effect on male children but raised the odds for female children to start smoking by 36%.

Starting to smoke was more than nine times as likely among students drinking alcohol at least twice a month than it was among those students who didn't drink, said the authors.

I smoke since 24 years - no filter self-turned, about 30/40 a day...
i know it can cause cancer. it's expensive. some call it stupid...whatever
smoking is as old as mankind. a ritual.
for me it's mostly a habit.

but sometimes when i grab some tobacco and a paper, turning a very nice cig.
- light it, lean back and just watching a character-srceen on a rpg for about seven minutes.

these are the rare moments when i love to smoke!

never tried to stop, but i respect non-smokers (stupid fags Laughing )

I am a non-smoker ...who am i kidding.. im a smoker when i drink. Its my vice. I started smoking when i was 20 (27 now) but i have recently quit again (4th time trying)

Now im walking a dangerous line of..well i can have one right? When i drink? Its ok..right?

The problem is its not, and i feel im slowly lossing my battle with the dark side. Smoking sucks. Its pure evil. Yet i love it.

It has been said that tabacoo is as addictive or more addictive than many hard street drugs. (Have not validated this statement)
