Yeah, seeing how many bad guys there are going to be the movie will at least go on for 3h.
1h30 of whining ("i don't want to be spiderman anymore, i want MJ") then 30min to defeat sandman, 30 to defeat green goblin 2 and 30 to defeat venom.
I hope i'm wrong

Not a big fan of 1 or 2.
I'm guessing I won't be a big fan of this one either.
I am a fan of the actual comics...

Atleast it looks like they are keeping the story true to form with Venom. I hated how xmen 3 fucked up how Jean Grey became Phoenix and how Juggernut is not a mutant. This is how i watched it as a kid now stop fucking up my child hood.

I love how he can never think for himself... He always needs people to tell him things a billion times... The CGI is horrendous... Mary Jane is ugly as all hell... They have like no scenes in the school...
And now the guy from that 70's show is not playing venom? It's over.

Yeah totally.. a friend told me about the trailer last night before I saw this thread and meantioned he thought it was venom.. so I went through the *real* way it all came about.. a few hours later I saw the trailer and was so happy to see it is EXACTLY the same! If you notice the bit where he is tearing off the black suit (eg. the symbiant) its in the clock/bell tower just as it should be!

Yeah sure.
So 'it's over' because you say it's over? Well the spiderman movies have been some of the most popular movies of all time, so it seems you're wrong.

I'm very opinionated on the matter I apologize. The first string of comments including CGI was directed at films 1 and 2. The last bit about the kid from that 70's show playing Venom was in reference to this film. Considering that (Eddie? forgot the name) is supposed to be a body builder *before* he encounters the symbiote, I find the casting laughable.
Regarding the CGI, I should have specified: Spiderman himself. To me it is horrendous. I realize we don't have the technology to have a believable CGI of a human shaped actor, but... I feel that it could have been better.
Lastly, I quote myself
"I'm guessing"
This was how I started my statement regarding what I think will happen with the movie.
I hope I will be pleasantly surprised, but I have my doubts.
I do however, think that it will be a big success with the masses. I am not the masses. I hated LOTR: ROTK with a passion and was displeased with LOTR:TTT.
Rawr.
PS: on the topic of CGI, comics, and predictions... anyone else want to jump on the "ghostrider looks like the largest steaming pile of crap to come to the big screens since gigli?" Regardless of whether the acting or plot work out, the CGI on the skull just makes me want to vomit. yuck!

Oh yea I agree with you there about Spider-Man himself. The first one he didn't look that great. They improved in the 2nd one though.

Well remember the movie is still 8 months off. The CGI in the trailler was still early CGI and should be improved (well they better be) when the movie comes out. And again CGI doesn't make a movie. Just cause the CGI might not be great doesn't mean the movie is going to be bad.

That guy from the 70's show isn't gonna come in looking all skinny like he did on that show, c'mon what are you thinking, look at Tobey and how he shaped up for the Spider-man part.
That's what actors do, they adapt to the part.
Also that one second of footage in the teaser of Eddie totally convince me, that moment right there he looks like how Eddie would looked like.
I have alot of faith in Sam Raimi, the guy has heart for the franchise, I find his sequel to be better then the first so hope is high for this upcoming one.

He only turns into a body builder AFTER spiderman ruins his reporting career.. So it is very plausible that the story line begins before that..

All the ultimate spiderman incarnations look like stupid kids, I hope thats not what they're aiming for.
As for Venom, I don't think that picture depicts him. Thats the symbiote after it has bonded with spiderman, after he rejects it, it goes to Eddie. Venom looks nothing like spiderman, besides weighing at least twice as much his general appearance is smooth. I really hope they don't just have him as a black coloured spiderman.
