I doubt it's going to be critical to buy shit instead of crafting them or whatever, but one can see what EA plans for the future..

WOW I had high hopes for this game. Why are they destroying this game before it even comes out.

Well doesn't matter to me. I got an origin free limited edition copy of DS3 so I didn't really pay shit anyways Razz

So sad how this game is going to get shitty ratings in the reviews. So sad. Even CVG's first 3 hour post of the game you can tell they want to talk so much shit about it but can't because dear old EA gave them a "preview copy"

Speaking with Visceral Games at a recent Dead Space 3 event, games.on.net learned that the PC version of Dead Space 3 will be a straight port of the console versions.

The PC version is understood to have some graphics options, but no support for DirectX 11, no additional high-resolution textures, and no further graphical enhancements above and beyond those seen on the PS3 or Xbox 360.

At the same event, we got to sit down with Dead Space 3‘s producer and talk about how they keep the game scary, even in co-op. Have a look!

DS1&2 were straight up ports too. And they were mostly ok (fucked up mouse in DS1 and color banding in DS2 aside). I'm ok with this. Everything Went Better Than Expected

Believable and relatable...Yep, sounds like Call of Duty

It's EA after all, and this is just the beginning. Dead Sp4ce: Online is the next inevitable step.

Microtransactions...I had low expectations on this game before (but I did keep an eye on the game just incase I'd be proven wrong) - but this seals the coffin for me. I won't be buying this PoS.

Yep, recent games have shown that the industry has improved and now games are worth buying for the most part.

So no enhancements at all, just a cheap port + ripping of the gamers with microtransactions

Umm..cos I can afford them?
I see it like this - if I can afford a computer worth €2000-€3000 (as an example..not sure what my own is worth) I should be able to afford to actually pay for my games.
Sure ive made a couple of bad buys - but the majority of the games ive paid for (Can't even count them anymore btw...1-2 thousands or so) have been entertaining.
I also don't always buy the games on release but rather wait until they are cheaper.

Edit: I mean, I don't smoke and I hardly ever drink. The money I don't spend on that kind of crap might aswell be spent on some other crap Wink

I smoke and drink, have lots of spare money, but i dont pay for games, because they are not worth it. Then when the games starts to use PC hardware properly (probably never), i will gladly pay for them. Only games that i buy are some multiplayer games there and there or cheap steam discount games. These days i havent even played much, just because the games are utter shit these days (still love gaming so much but...).

As for this Dead Space 3, so straight port with microtransactions, fucking unbeliavable.... Thanks EA, thanks so much. SUPER MEGA AWESOME Cool Face

..I read alot that people here (and other places) refuse to pay for a game...then the same people complains in a thread about a specific game that the pirated that "i've just finished it and it only took <insert number> hours!".
Imo if you bother playing a game from start to finish you might aswell pay for it.
People seem to think its ok to spend €50-€100 on a friday out drinking while spending the same (or less) on a game that last just as long is wrong.

BUT this discussion should proberbly be in another thread rather than this one.

..when it comes to Dead Space franchise I must say that the first one was pretty cool (even though I never finished it) but the second one just didnt feel as fun.

Oh I actually don't mind paying for them, but 50€? Laughing

Case in point with the Dead Space games, I bought them for 10€ and 5€ respectively because that's what I think they're worth.
But no way in hell I'd buy them or almost every game out there at it's release for 40-50€.

When I was younger (and the financial situation was better) I used to buy games even at full price but now, with this crisis and crappy job...only dirty cheap stuff from sales Razz (in the best case scenario Laughing )

This has always amazed me Smile I know how everything is expensive in Scandinavian countries (and it's like that for decades), yet it's cradle of European video game piracy Smile
I mean, 10 years ago you could live with 100 euros for a month here, so original games were not an option (thus we were bying pirates for one or two euros), but how can someone consider a 50 euro game to be expensive in a country where you need 50 euros for a night just to get moderately drunk Smile (I'm talking about time before this crisis ofcourse)
