I really hope they cracked the game themselves for three reasons:

First: there would be no need to worry about the game crashing somewhere with old exe.
Second: I always considered the best skilled and politically correct group out there.
Third: beating StarForce it would be a great improvement for the scene.

Hope I won't get disappointed.
Since everybody here knows about my idea, they'll know it's not a real crack in case.
So I would be the one unmasking RELOADED tricks, and victory would be mine all the same.

let·s hope it gives Reloaded some more insight in Starforce by comparing the uncracked and the cracked exe.

I don't think they stole 'your' idea, as a 'cracked' exe was posted here before you posted, just take a look at the end of this thread:

My votes about this matter:
UBISOFT/GEARBOX = 0
STARFORCE = 10
GUY WHO DISCOVERED THE TRICK = 10
SCENE = N/A (no actual step forward or improvement)

*MAVERICK*

Agreed with you on the first 3, no argue about it. But why "no actual step forward or improvement"? What do you mean by that? That there is not a step or there will not be a step? It would be a big disapointment to see that this mistake cannot be used against SF 3.6.
And Ubi - seems that your hunger for money made you blind, trying to make a quick buck...see? that's what happens when you wrap up some 1 year old game with some new levels and selling it for the price of a brand new one. Oh, well, maybe you'll pin this one on StarForce and break your contract with them. Razz

This mistake is nothing against SF at all, it's gearbox that messed up, not SF, as previously mentioned here.

The "idea" I was referring to was change the exe icon to make it look like BIA 2.
Everybody know I'm not the one who discovered the trick.

My question was : can this mistake be used in the breaking of the new SF 3.6? if it wasn't clear enough.

The mistake is clearly not StarForce's, since they protected the .exe very well, but the people' who chose to protect the same exe as one year ago.
Pinning the mistake on SF was a joke, if you didn't get it. Big companies like Ubi always find some scapegoat. Would it bother you if that scapegoat would be SF?

for sure this trick has been very usefull to reloaded. we're not talking about an unprotected game here... but a protected game, with sf3.6 at full power, hacked simply with an exe.
reloaded used to crack sf3 with a total different approach, analizing this owngoal by ubisoft they might learn how to bypass the initial call in the exe. cant care less if there are 20-100-500megs of file encripted with starforce as long as the exe does not call the protection
i think consequences of this bia2 thing will be pretty bad for sf

Hope they are, hope I don't see them for another 2 years or so at least, and I wouldn't mind not seeing them at all after all the trouble they've caused, but I don't think that would be the case. Viruses always have a tendency to change their external aspect and coming back to you (both human and PC viruses).

sorry but that does not work if brother earned in blood have encrypted files than the previous hoodlum safedisc crack does not have any decrypting routines for these encrypted starforce files so it will not recognize them so I think earned in blood does not have any encrypted files just the exe is starforce protected.

@Selt what do you mean with that ? I don't mean that brothers in arms e i b ,does not have starforce protection it does have it ,but it does not use the encrypted file function cause the previous exe from brothers in arms(Hoodlum) does not have any decrypting routines to decrypt these encrypted files cause it uses an different protection Safedisc.

Just as I thought. It's not a "real" crack in the very sense of the word!
Just the one from BIA, even thought it's their own. That explains the difference in size.

You people like talking bullshit without actually checking anything, if you dump eip.exe from retail and compare with reloaded crack you will see its the correct one, nothing else... I guess the release timings ( tricks<>realcrack) are just a coicidence since game is very new Rolling Eyes
