Although it seems it only lowered the annoyance. Sometimes it still happens, just not as often. Had one instance since I installed. Still, that's a tremendous improvement.
They really dont know what to do with the space do they? its like every time I see that site change like it has in firefox for me right now there is always this weird space issue they have going on.
I discovered YT SaneGrid for easier subscription management a while ago and never looked back. It goes through youtubes api and nothing is stored on any server, everything in your browser, you can mark videos watched or delete them entirely from view and are never bothered by the Google+ account popup again.
Together with a browser plugin like MagicActions that auto-defaults to 720p and disables auto-play I am very happy with youtube now.

Lol I just got a content claim on my World of Warplanes gameplay video, of some (remix) bullshit on the sound of airplane engine running with no background music..
And after briefly searching around, I saw a lot of people having wrongly identified content, then disputing, and some intern on site just presses file DMCA and there's nothing you can do about it.
And you get 3 strikes, but they can do this infinite times.. and win even when they're wrong, and you can't do shit..
Some guy even had a content claim on an audio video, of just speaking his voice..
.... the hell? It's like it on every single YT video I open from an embedded link. Doesn't matter where from, it's always the same, the longer x-yt-ts=XXXXXXX stuff, followed by x-yt-cl=XXXXXXX. It's only started happening over the last week or so and if I Google for "x-yt-cl" I find it on dozens of videos linked by others.
It's definitely not just me I hate random shit like this happening and not knowing why, it makes me feel incredibly paranoid. Oh and I'm on FF34 - it doesn't do it in IE.

And when downloading videos, sometimes they randomly start at some shitty speed and stay there. If I restart them I usually get my normal full speed, WTF. Stupid YT faggets throttling traffic?
There's some throttling or "bandwidth management" since a few years ago I believe, Flash also has a variety of limitations compared to HTML5 playback and by now I think the majority of the larger browsers can use Youtube with HTML5 instead of relying on Adobe Flash.
Probably also a matter of server load as there's likely a enormous amount of data being sent to and from the server clusters that Youtube probably uses or however it's structured.
EDIT: Pretty sure there's a number of working extensions for both Chrome and Firefox that try to mitigate this but they can break more than they solve and when Google changes something with Youtube these programs might need to be updated to offer full compatibility again.
