Actually, I prefer Football Manager series, but this one was released yesterday in some stores in Germany and it would be nice to have it to kill some time till 14th Nov. when SI's FM09 arrives...

Yeah, just an unrealistic, can't-get-a-decent-engine-or-transfer-system-going management game.

In my opinion, the advantage of SI's Footmall Manager is that your tactical decisions or finding players with important attributesfor certain posistion really make a difference. In EA's manager lot of results seem to be random, in 3D a player with speed attribute 70 runs faster than another with 90 etc. But it's OK for a week or two of fun. Does anyone know if a group is working on a release. It's supposed to have online activation as protection method.

in football manager one player makes all the difference , players like adebayor, villa, van nistelrooy etc, can decide a game in the last 10mins. if you are training a average team to fight for champions league, players like the ones i mention resolve the game on the last 10 mins even if you have a 2 goals advantage, it's stupid.. anyone noob with arsenal for example, dont have any problems in win the premier league.. miss CM old times.

Im in the football manager live beta and they removed some tactical stuff cause it was to hard for the kiddies |
it was just a simple comercial game, many things in football manager was just to full the game with stupid things, like the press.. whatever you say to the press it will never take effects in your team, in fifa manager, every aspect are very detailed and have important somehow.. and you have a lot of things you can do, from your wife, to the club.. and the transfer system was real.. in fm was ridiculous some of the transfers. I PLAY FM but it could be better.. fifa manager 06 was a very good game but with some minors errors, never played 07 or 08, just installed to see how it is. FM was a vicious game, not a good game..

FiFA Manager 09 (c) Electronic Arts
10/2008 :..... RELEASE.DATE .. PROTECTION .......: Securom+SDK
1 :.......... DISC(S) .. GAME.TYPE ........: Sport Sim
FIFA Manager 09 gives you full control over the management of a football
club. You are responsible for the line-up, the tactics and the training of
your team as well as for signing the right players, improving the club
facilities and the stadium. It is also important that you maintain good
relationships with your players, the board, the sponsors and the press.
But FIFA Manager 09 goes further.Consistent with the company's improvements
on its other football titles, FIFA 2009 exhibited some promising gameplay
improvements. Most noticeable is the game's increased responsiveness.
Passing, dribbling, and even the physical pushing and shoving that occurs
in the game all occur at a much faster and more realistic pace than previous
versions of FIFA.

From the official FM09 website:
Quote: | We have several requests about getting sacked at the end of the season. This is a bit complicated therefore a full explanation for all of you:
1. Pirated Version
If you play with a pirated version you get sacked at the end of the season, that's for sure. If there will be a new pirated version without this problem, we have other things that won't work. Enjoy. |

It's the usual protection switches that are included randomly in the code. Same why first installments of Sims 2 were hard to crack, same why in other games your tank became a bird, etc.

They tampered with the only aspect of the previous games that i really liked and that is the match text mode. The new one is too gay-ish for me, played 20 mins, uninstalled. EA go screw yourself with your pirated versions trigger shite.
