|
 |
So I get a phone call today from one of my best friends saying "hey cass, do you remember chris o'hara?" and i'm like yeah of course I do he's the little prick who used to bully my brother and all the other kids then cry whenever somebody bigger than him pushed him around and made fun of him for being indian/having a lisp. Well it turns out this kid who was few years below me in my school back in the day was arrested for killing an old guy because he interrupted him during a robbery.
I feel pretty erm... how do I even explain it. I feel a little freaked out knowing that this was a guy who lived a few doors away from my own house for a good few years at blackpool and that he used to bully my brother and some other kids. I always knew he was a retarded fuck up but I never expected him to go that far, robbery? fine fair enough but to beat an old guy who he actually worked for during the weekends is a little bit too far. I feel bad for him for some reason even and I really hope that after he is released (17 years) he will be able to move on and rebuild his life and learn from this shit because after all he's still just a kid at the minute. I'll probably drop by and see his older brother sometime in the future when i'm back at blackpool, I wonder what he must be feeling right now for he was always the drug dealing loud mouth and his brother, aside from bullying, was extremely quiet.
Anyway I don't know why i'm even posting this I guess I just need to type somewhere to make myself feel a little better.

fuck that. anyone that does that to the defenceless elderly is a mega cunt and deserves to rot in prison, not for 17 years but for ever.
i somewhat feel you've said alot of the shit in the above post just to prevoke a reaction.
meh.
my mates neighbour, whom lived next door to him and his kids as they grew up, has just been arrested for raping a 13 year old boy. he's off to jail - made him think about things too.

Like Horrordee said, such a lack of respect for life deserves the ultimate punishment. Regardless of whether he is a product of his environment, his genes or a combination of both is irrelevant, his existence needs to be ended.

He certainly deserves everything that's coming for him but with that being said I still feel like it's just another life wasted and it's a shame. I'm not saying any of this for a reaction though, I really do feel pretty confused over all of this.

Oh no doubt it's a shame, but I can't help but feel he would almost always have been a delinquent regardless of his environment. Only a perfect upbringing can stop such a person from turning to crime, and there is no such thing in the real world.

the "perfect upbringing" tends to bring up serial killers too
I dont believe so much that childhood upbringing affects how a person will be in the future as much as most people think. Sure, it is a big factor, you tend to follow the traits of your parents but at the end of the day, humans are receptive, we sponge everything around us and your parents bringing you up is not %100 of your mental growth. People you meet, things you see, movies you watch, books you read, everything has an impact
it seems this kid was troubled, probably ended up in the wrong crowd, it happens. or maybe he is just an evil fuck, as they exist too.. its just a sad fact of society ; society is flawed.

More times than is funny bad kids actually turn out bad adults.
I have a similar story, I dont wanna hijack the thread so I'll be brief but I do have a point to the wall of text
A kid that I hung out with during in my early childhood was a real fucking dipshit, I hung out with him due to geographical advantages and cause his mom knew my mom. He was the sort of kid that would get me into trouble. Ofc I wasn't innocent but I think everyone knows the type, our playtime could consist of beating eachother up, playing r-rated videogames or stealing bicylces and shit, stuff I wouldn't do on my own.
When we were like 10-11 he got transfered to a school for troubled kids and we never hung out again. But I saw him grow up, dropping out of high school, starting to hang out with nazi scum, doing some time in juvenile prison and eventually getting into the drugtrade.
So anyways, last summer, the bank back in my hometown gets robbed at gunpoint. This is a really small bank in a really small town (population 5000~). The guy gets caught without any drama a few days later and it turns out the gun was just a prop. A few weeks later I find out it was this guy, my childhood, I don't even wanna call it friend, childhood.. forced friend.
So yeah, this was a guy I really couldn't care less about but still I felt guilty for some reason and just like you say Dazz, you hope they can get their shit together or something. It's really weird, cause I genuinely dislike him and always have but I still feel sorry for him even though what he got (4+ years in prison i think) was exactly what had been coming for him for more than 20 years.

Why is it that just some people are bad. Is it really only depending on the education, parenthood and friends? Is there maybe more to it? Genetics?

Well take my friend as an example. He had a bad education since he dropped out of high school. His parents were all right I think, no abusive behavior or drinking afaik. As far as friends go he did not have alot, he was the bullytype rather than anything.
As for genes, his sister and brother both turned out fine.
I think you can't blame any one factor, there's just too many for that and they're too different from case to case.
