are you sure in what you're saying? fifa 09 had decent graphics and for sure it wasnt a port from PS 2.
was fifa 09 way better on xbox? how come?
Yeah, it wasn't a direct port like FIFA 08, it was a masked PS2 port: EA added some shaders and stuff like that, mantaining the core gameplay from the "oldgen" version.
And yes, FIFA 09 on XBOX360/PS3 is enourmously better than the PC version since it has better animations, better physics, better graphics....everything is better
Because the noobs FIFA PC is targeted at worldwide mostly do not have PCs with more than a P4 and 512MB ram, so a 360 will not run smooth for them.
This was the poor explanation EA gave last year.Ridiculous.Thousands of people in Europe bought NBA 2k9 even without online mode!8 out of 10 pc users machines can handle anything ported from x360.
This is the reason they've been giving this reason ever since they upgraded the engine for 360 in 2005. It has been the same shit every year. "We want to, but the 360 is so powerful, we feel if we made it just like the 360 version, only 10% will be able to enjoy it" (read: WE WON'T MAKE CASH FROM THE KIDDIES).
Yep they are much different games now. EA have basically said that the PC can't run FIFA games, as they are too complex for our puny systems, so we get a bastardised version of the PS2 game.
Pro Evo is pretty much the same game as on the consoles though.
New information about EA's FIFA 10 - unfortunately it's no good news for PC gamers: In FIFA 10 there won't be Next-Gen graphics for the PC - just like it has been the case when FIFA 09 was released. This is what FIFA Soccer Blog learned during an interview at the Community Day in Vancouver.
According to the developers only ten percent of the FIFA gamers would have a PC that is fast enough to run the game with Next-Gen graphics - so EA would have to suffer the loss of sales volumes. The calculations are based on worldwide data so local differences are not taken into account.
But EA wants to improve the gameplay of the FIFA 10 PC version: among other features there will be an updated collision system as well as better animations for goal keepers and audience. Furthermore each team is said to receive an appropriate offensive and defensive orientation along with improved player switching.
You keep posting photos of player faces but graphic is nothing....
You can't do anything with wonderful graphic if gameplay is a shit....
What do u do with ur graphic if player are cpu controlled after passeges or after corner ?
Fuck automatic movements, fuck graphics, we want a decent gameplay with MANUAL movement, passages and shots !
It might be a good football game this way.....
well, so far we have no gameplay information so at least we can judge the screenshots, right? and the improvement over 2009 is undeniable, comparison shot:
Nice graphics improvement, especially the lighting side, but animations really make the difference for sports games. Fifa 09 (console) and NBA 2K9 were two great games thanks to fluid and correct animations in every situation.
Pes2009, for example, wasn't a bad soccer game, but it had robotic players running, 90 degrees dribblings and 8 directions players control, all typical aspects from an old PS2 game.
If you don't have anything useful to say, just shut up, we are not in the void.
@Screenshot:
What PES really needs is a good animation system and more stadium atmosphere. OK they always animated the players on the computer but it is time to combine motion capturing with euphoria like physics system!
PES6 for example was a very nice game but after adding the "evolution patch" the games was so much more fun to play! PES2010 needs this change of atmosphere and better comentators. Fifa is qualitywise so much better but I don't like the train-like movement of it, it never feels as if the ball or your player has any weight, they just move and do...
Well, presentation comes down to the amount on money each company is willing to shell out. Obviously EA has the upper hand on that in terms of licensing, commentators, etc, with the virtually unlimited funds they can throw. This has always been through, but I think Konami has advanced in that regard over the recent years quite well.
It's konamis fault at the end. I remember how they were giving an interview to a german gaming website and stated that ea can pay as much money on licenses and stuff but that they'll never reach the gameplay of pes. And bam next year assrape for pes 09 against fifa 09 (on consoles).
They kept on sleeping without investing some real man power into this project
*I still prefer PES over fifa *

Euphoria would be a blast for a sport game...
Hopefully this year (maybe) we'll have better animations thanks to several motion capture sessions (video ), but I really doubt it will reach the amazing FIFA 09 console level.
These are 11 scans from the exclusive PSM3 preview of the game: LINK .
Since it's an early version of the game (50%), it's a quite positive preview. There are some bad points though, but seems that "...some changes are yet to be implemented", like better players animations or graphics stuff.
The worst part is:
"..the lack of obvious new animations is a shame, since the quality in-game-likenesses suggests a more significant overhaul, but this is an early code".>> trad. "this is because we hope is an early code" .
Anyway, seems that we'll have clear improvements too, like a slower and more realistic gameplay (tactics finally will be useful), better controls, better goalkeepers, more balanced refs, and (we really really hope)...better online, since it won't use those shitty KONAMI IDs but it will be hosted directly on KONAMI servers.
My personal opinion is that we'll have really better PES this year (since the 2008+2009 versions were absolutely bad) but the lacking of a "revolution" in terms of gameplay and players animations will make FIFA 10 an easy winner EDIT:(but not on PC...)

FIFA 10 will be an easy winner on the console market. The PC version will be the same rehashed bullshit EA has been serving us for the past 4-5 years or so.
Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600 - ASUS P5Q-PRO - Mushkin XP2-6400 4GB - Gainward HD4850 Golden Sample - WD 3200AAKS (managed to fry this one, ffs) + WD 6400AAKS - Thermaltake 550W PSU - Thermaltake Soprano VX case

Yeah obiouvsly , my thoughts were in a general way (including the console versions).
Since FIFA 10 PC we'll be an "improvement" over the 09 PC version, hopes are so low that shouldn't even been considered .
PES 2010 to be playable at Gamescom Show in August
Konami have announced their line up for the annual games trade show, Gamescom, held in Germany at the end of August.
This year, the event is held in Cologne from the 19th to the 23rd of August. Konami will be there again, and will have playable copies of PES 2010 for gamers to try out months before the game is released. For the last two or three years, some of the first gameplay footage has emerged from these events so it may be a date to mark on your calendar.
They still have a month to improve gameplay and animations. At Gamescom the game won't be 100% complete, but it will show if it's really a revamped 2009 version or a "new" game.
- A lot of Japanese professional footballer do motion-captures too, not only Messi
- Complete mo-caps sessions 1 time each week in Japan studio
- Some Japanese players try to same moves like big stars and when isnโt perfect the designer make it better.
- Animations is one of big priority for PES2010
- Satoshi Suzuki is project leader for animations
At least seems that they have finally understood what is one of the major issues of PES...
If we add some revamped graphics, more realistic gameplay and smooth online (as promised), we could really have the ultimate soccer game on PC.
In the video there is a quick presentation of the new slider tactics system both for teams and players.Looks promising.
The graphics presentation is a joke with the art designer showing shadows and lighting on Messi...
In his left monitor there's gameplay video. It's difficult to see if aniimations are improved but i did notice some nice nets..
Today Konami will reveal screenshots, new info and a 3min gameplay video.
