7,5 for me, no coop, awful performance, and gfx are good, but not that great. Also, just straightforward action, no puzzles - or puzzles for 6-year-old.

The performance is great here, runs very smooth.
And the infernus engine ( i think thats the way is called) its great.... awesome physics and textures...

Infernal engine. It runs smooth on my pc too, but considering you can dark sector, gears of war, dead space and other aaa titles with mid-end rigs (8600gt), performance-wise ghostbusters is not very well optimized.

Is anyone using DirectX 10 with WinXP Pro SP3 to play this game?
Been doing anything I can to figure out why this game won't run... I'm using a Core 2 Duo E6600, 2.4Ghz computer with 2GB of Ram and a GeForce 8800GTX 768MB video card.
I keep getting the error message of 'Can't initialize 3D acceleration' I posted the error message before... http://img191.imageshack.us/img191/9015/4a3cf907.jpg
I can't recall the last time I had trouble with a game so that is why this is frustrating me so much...

turn off sound buffering in the ini file !!! and set the DX sound to low

DX10 will work in XP... Do a search for DirectX 10 XP and you'll find the setup files.
You can remove DX9 but have to be careful and it does require the XP Pro CD cause it does a rollback to the past version.

Hmm I think you will find that it doesnt work fully in XP, I tried it before and as far as I could tell all it did was make my dxdiag display the number 10 in the place of 9 where it says direct x version. I tested with Crysis and a few other DX10 titles and none ran under the DX 10 API.
I think they gave up on the project half way through so the files you're using are just a borked version of DX9 probably not healthy for your setup really.

The rating system of today is a joke. Not aimed at you Pey, but the overall inflation in the gaming world.
It should be 1-5, where 3 is good. Imagine all those 8 games all of a sudden getting only 3.

The rating system of today is a joke. Not aimed at you Pey, but the overall inflation in the gaming world.
It should be 1-5, where 3 is good. Imagine all those 8 games all of a sudden getting only 3. |
Don´t get me wrong, it´s a nice game, hence the 7.5, but it´s like comparing Diablo 2 and Titan Quest in terms of gameplay. Ghostbusters adds nothing new to the genre, it´s just one nice looking clone of gears of war or other games with over the camera view.

hmm, I've just got done playing deadspace and its similar to ghostbusters. What I mean is that the gameplay/look err..camera angle is the same, if you get what i mean. Now I'm playing on a xps1530 c2d t9300 2.50, 8600gt gddr, 3gig of ram, xp sp3. I dont expect to max out all the graphics etc and typically play at mid settings. But im quite surprised at the optimizing between these two games, infact for deadspace I was able to max out all the settings and it ran like a dream - no fps drops, hardly any loading times. Ghostbusters on the other hand has random fps drops and questionable loading times.
For me this game would be alot more fun if it didnt have these problems.

Im still playing it..in museum with the civil war ghosts..so that means its playable. But..still slows down, sometimes freezes. FPS is still anywhere from 15-70. I already disabled phys in Nvidia control panel, using reloaded crack.
It def. runs like crap - just like GTA4. Both are great games, but very sad they were just ported over and no time spent on PC.

Titan Quest is a nice game, but it´s nothing more than a diablo 2 clone with better gfx and no mp.

ehm, TQ had mp ... plus calling it a clone is kinda uncalled for ... why ? because it is a HACK N SLASH ? people really should use the term "clone" more carefully lol.
