15$ a month is way too much for a game where EU and USA is a secondary market. I played L2 and when I got bored with it I followed its development. I don't recall a single idea or suggestion made by EU and USA players appear in the game.
I have a mild interest in this game, but I still think that WoW is the only MMO worth paying for, so yeah, flame on.

I suppose it really depends how much time you spending playing the game. I have some friends that play WoW for only 1-2 hours a week, I couldn't really justifying paying monthly for that, personally.
If you're sinking countless hours into a well supported game with regular new content, I think it's pretty worth it. New content and support is key though! Being sat on the same treadmill for months with nothing new and/or having to endure lag/excessive bugs is most definitely not worth paying for.

I had to use proxy to create my account and I live in Europe, my account is European and I used European beta key. Fuck NCsoft, I already see how they don't give two shits about secondary market, especially Europe.

I'm from Lithuania. But it's just some bug in the system, they probably had to add entire Europe's IP range for Aion beta and my tiny country somehow slipped by. I just hope same shit won't happen when I try to log into the game this Friday.

As it currently stands, there should not be any restrictions in place to play on the European servers so regardless of where you are living, you should be able to play on the European servers with your friends.

Yeah that launcher is bullshit.
You'll change your mind once you get ingame, its more polished than most retails =)

ok problem for NA players: I tried adding the EU beta key to the account today but it says I need to make a Aion® (Europe) account.
So I try making that and it says: The game you are attempting to create is not allowed in your region.

Preordered 2 copies, one from Amazon and 1 from gamestop. I will be playing this game with my bro once it releases in Sept. This game is like wow+linage+ffxi combined.

NCsoft fixed their issues with the different game clients:

3. If you have already installed the NA client you can still use the Aion (US), as long as you ensure that your NCsoft Launcher region setting is set to Europe (step 1).

This aparently means that even the US client is installed, one can use the EU key and log on the available (european) servers.
