I've not really delved into it properly yet, but whilst the presentation is insanely slick - with everything from the graphics to much of the UI - the gameplay seems almost identical to the previous title? I mean I understand that's going to be the case but can someone give me a bullet point as to what new features gameplay wise I should be looking for - or is it simply a case of major refinement?

As I say; I'm probably jumping the gun from what little I played but since the STEAM version comes with no manual ()

- Oriental settlements (different buildings, different needs, etc).
- Layered cities. Now not every building will be upgraded automatically if their needs are met. Higher standing citizens will live in the center and the poor population will live on the outskirts.
- obviously refined ui
- better harbor building, now you can place special buildings, like warehouses, cranes, towers, etc. Even on water.
- New resources and production chains.
- obviously much better graphics.
- more varied gameplay (for example you can import "seeds" to an island if there is an empty producable slot, so now they aren't fixed like before).
- renown system to unlock neat bonuses.

That's just a few I remembered from the demo, I'm sure there are a lot more.

There's a fake crack with a virus floating around (and no antivirus except NOD will even detect anything) so be careful.

Nope. Codename Panzers: Cold War was cracked not by Darkc0der.

Games are overpriced . . .

I do buy games and applications, but for a game without multiplayer (aka: without a running FREE multiplayer plataform (Battle Net as an example ) ) is just not worth the price, for me atleast.

I will wait until Anno Steam CD-Keys show up in the Online CD-Key stores for ~$20, then i will buy it . . .

OFFTOPIC

I already bought the original, and I'm really not going to warez the expansion, I want to upload my stuff. Won't buy the parts pack, but the actual expansion looks good, and my friends like it and I believe them. So for now, that's what I'm gonna buy. Smile

Thanks for the support, but who cares? I like creating new stuff and see what others come up with, not just "blow shit up". If he has problem with that, I really couldn't care less. Smile

But we are waaay off topic, sorry about the hijacking.

I'm not american, but supporting EA in their trainwreck only hurts us all Wink

Perhaps you should take a break and go read up sarcasm.

Guy who cracked Codename Panzers: Cold War can't crack this because he needs to register his copy of the game to crack it and no one is donating a key to him.
