Me ! Very Happy

In fact, i had some trouble in the past with this game and my 8800gtx (cuz of bad drivers) but since most problems on the 8800 drivers have been solved (with 158.22 on XP) , i've restarted to play it Laughing

Cool game indeed : i enjoy the dynamic fights a lot (especially with goblins and orcs) Very Happy

The site giving out keys says "Manutenção" which I guess, stands for maintenance.

PostPosted: Sat, 27th Jun 2009 13:16    Post subject: Dark Messiah on sale on steam for 4,99 EU
I just purchased this game and was very happy, but then I installed the single player part and steam says it's unavailable!
Installation completed ok as far as I can see but I can't start the game!
Any help would be gladly appreciated.

Ps. Steam says that it takes up 3,7 Gb when preparing to install, but when it's installed it's about 7Gb, and there's no help at the forum. Speaking about the forum the steam page redirects me to the ubisoft forum so I navigated the steam forums and found the section for this game but no help there. I'm pretty pissed now, as I bought the game to show a bit of support (I did complete the game some years ago with a cracked Non-steam version, which of course worked fine) Sad

the 7gb thing i think is all the steam files needed for source games, so if you had hl2 installed it would only have taken 3,7gb.

The game rules.

Thats funny, I was just playing this now for the first time in a year. Don't know how to help you, but you can definitely write a steam support ticket. My installation is around 7gb too.

Edit: No, the gcf files named mm_.... take up 6.6gb and theres a folder with 1gb in steamapps. If it uses any of the source gcf files, it's in excess of those 7gb.

I'm currently reinstalling the game, but if that doesn't work I guess I will have to write a support ticket. And yes, this game is fucking cool, when it works Smile

Right click and make steam verify the downloaded content, if it can't authenticate when you play even if the above finds no missing files and similar the server is just busy.
(Bit uncertain on how this works but I'm pretty sure you need to be online the first time for it to download all data and then you can play offline as the user.blob file or what it's called will have the needed stuff to start the game.)

I did try to verify the integrity of the game cache and steam did not find anything wrong, and I have not put steam into offline mode. I'm gonna report back when I have finished redownloading the game (should take an hour).

And thx so much for the quick answer Smile I just wanna play the darn game Crying or Very sad

Hmm, I reinstalled the game from a different steam server and now it works fine Smile Don't know what went wrong first time I tried.
Btw. How do I know if my version censored or uncensored?

I had a problem with Windows 7 64 bits beta where it would slow down to a crawl after about half an hour playing.
No other Source based game gave me problems on that OS (Using RC1 now), so it may be this Vista 64 bits problem rhagz spoke about...

Just reinstalled it on Vista x64. Don't bother selecting Hard battle difficulty FYI - you go down in 3 hits, but your enemies can take 6-8 slashes each and still stay standing. Not cool.

Wahay! Thread resurrection Lv99!! This game rocks, always has and always will, so I recently reinstalled it to have my eleven hundredth playthrough ..... but I forgot just how agonisingly painful the "walk backwards" speed is Sad Does anyone know a cvar or mod that adjusts that?

Thank ye!

-edit-

Pffft, screw yew guise! I had a look through the HL2 CVARs and found it myself;

hl2_sprintbackspeed

It was defaulted to 60. I increased it to 100 and voila! MUCH better. Weeee. Man, I'd give anything for a Dark Messiah 2. This game rules so hard.
