Stuck in the starting area. Seems the scripts are off or something. those three dudes just stand there and when I go to defend the flank, nothing.

Damn this one runs smooth, 60fps whole time on maxed out settings at 1080p. Animations are pretty crap and game itself feels little "cheap", but overall its a nice game :>

The game is great, runs smooth on maxed out settings, and the gameplay is so various, liked the first battle against the Sheriff, even though it was pretty hard for me to get into those controls of the hand ;D

I know how to treat games like these, on a tv with an xbox wireless controller, you can't beat the consoly out of a console game, thankfully I've got my pc hooked up to the tv.

I hated the auto aim too until I realized the following -
A. It only kicks in at really close distances.
B. It makes the dual throwing knives Thomas uses actually useful.
It's awesome to be able to burst in a room and throw two knives at different targets almost instantaneously - such gratifying kills. This in and of itself doesn't really JUSTIFY the auto aim - but if it wasn't there this particular weapon would be useless and outclassed by the pistols. Basically, it seems like the knives have a faster, more accurate auto aim than the other weapons at close range.
Granted, they should at least give the option to disable it, but its not as big a "cheat" mechanic as it is on some other titles. Multiplayer is another story which I can't really speak for....
I can never be free, because the shackles I wear can't be touched or be seen.

Game runs fine cause of "shaderpath 3" and "shadowmapsize 1024"

It's not a cheat, it's in the console version in order to compensate for the controller. But they did not remove it for PC version for some reason (lazyness?). Very fucking annoying that it's so consolified they didn't even make it toggleable (afaik).

the fact that the game has no autorun or copy protection is proof enough of how much they actually give a shit
doesn't bother me tho, game runs great and that's all that counts

The game does have autorun, or do you mean a launcher? Not all games have launchers. And Ubisoft stated they won't bother with protectioon anymore.

Yeah, but was hoping for better.
Then again, I liked the first one, and it didn't get high scores either.

eurogamer tends to give harsh reviews to most of games, better waiting for ign or gamespot reviews.

Checked those config files a bit myself and managed to improve a bit of it though some values (Primarily the shader data) seems to revert back to default.
Looks like this now.
Audio:
Spoiler: |
!API(s) // aDS3D, aOpenAL, aXACT, XAudio2, NoSound
!MixFrequency(i)
!Channels(i)
!ForceSoftware()
!ForceSoftwareEAX()
!ForceNoFXes()
!Quality3D(s) // low, medium, high
!UseEAX()
!ExtraSounds01()
!SpeechVolume(i)
!FXVolume(i)
!WaveVolume(i)
!GlobalSettings(s)
!DebugMode()
API("XAUDIO2")
MixFrequency(96000)
Channels(64)
Quality3D("high")
FXVolume(1
WaveVolume(13)
SpeechVolume(35)
GlobalSettings("")
// API can be changed but there's no real advantage in doing that, increasing channels and frequence is possible as well though for the frequence you won't really hear much of a difference though the game can still use higher values as long as your sound card can handle them.

//Shaderpath would have been nice to get to "5" (DX10) but it seems only SM3 works, looks OK though, also added trilinear filtering to the texture filtering along with anisotropic filtering, bit of a quality increase albeit probably not very noticeable, pushing shadow resolution from 1024 to 2048 pixels however made a nice change in detail as did enabling FSAA though I need to compare that better.

All you people complaining about auto-aim need to look in the fucking options menu. You can disable it. Geez, you'd think you could use a little of the energy spent bitching actually doing the obvious.
I've only seen auto-aim pop up a couple of times anyway. WAAAAAH CONSOLIFIZITIONWTF!! Cry more.
Game is pretty epic so far. Runs great, looks great. Nice western story. Very fun.

Actually I also totally missed the auto-aim option at first, for those wondering you need to switch from the mouse+keyboard control menu to the X360 gamepad menu, unsure if that aim help stuff affects anything though if you're using mouse based aiming.

Disabling it for 360 controller don't effect mouse+kb setup.

Anyone have any issues escaping the town on the Stagecoach? I'm out of town and I've swapped places and now I'm in the Stagecoach, I keep taking hits despite not seeing any enemies. I know they're chasing me as when we went round a bend I could just about see one of the guys on horseback chasing me but I can't see them enough to shoot at them.
Am I missing something obvious here? Like being able to lean out of the windows or something? It's getting annoying that I can't see them yet they seem able to kill me by shooting through the back of the stagecoach.
