Yuck they did a bad job with this game.

Graphics are sketchy and they forced me to use some sort of crappy camera angle.
Boo, better luck with '10.

You can change camera view. LOL

Yes, its 2009, games should auto detect which camera angle is preferred by each user based on nose snorting and automatically apply it, right ?

It should be using the default camera angle it has been since the series inception.

i have 22" inch widescreen monitor set to 1680x1050 resolution.. in the config of VT2009 i choose that resolution and check off widescreen box. the game however looks squashed .. as you can see in teh screenshot.. if i uncheck the widescreen box in the config the gameplay players look fatter yet looks "better".. does this sound right? which is the proper widescreen choice, checked or unchecked?

Neither, for your resolution. For this game, widescreen means exclusively 16:9, while your resolution is 16:10. Smile

And use spoiler for such large pics.

There are a lot of games that don't support properly the 16:10 resolution, however it's better with the widescreen option checked.
Without it, it's like a 4:3 image stretched to 16:10.

Finally I tried this VT2009 with low hopes of having a good game and....it's worse than I expected. I kinda liked VT3 when it came out in 2007, I finished the career mode in a bunch of days but I unistalled it soon because of its uber-arcade taste and the lack of the mp mode. Mini review of the 2009 version:

- Graphics re too simplicistic, even if it's a tennis game, with annoying blurry effects during replays and lot of unjointed animations (some of them are worse than VT3, but hopefully SEGA removed the crazy dives);
- The gameplay is exactly the same as VT3 (with the exception of dives, as said before) so if you played VT3 there's really no reason to play this;
- Sound effects are bad, even worse than VT3; rackets have a funny plastic sound and the music is (just like VT3) unlisteneable;
- No Multiplayer;
- I've seen the official price: 49,90€ Laughing

I've been really expecting this game, recently i've wanted terribly two things: a decent modern combat simulator (with reasonable load times unlike lock-on) and a tennis game.
well this game sucks!

1. graphics are ok, but its not my main concern.
2. you cant aim the ball normally! there's absolutely no way to slice the ball close to the net (the middle of the court doesnt count) and you cant really hit the ball close to the baseline either.
3. game is too easy until you set the difficulty to "very hard", in that mode, the PC returns EVERY possible ball and you cant win.
4. designed players have no eye-brows and facial hair - its such a visible bug that I cant understand how they released the game like that.

I can go on and on but im really disappointed, seriously the tennis game on my cell phone has more aiming possibilities.

Signature rules. Options:
* Image (max 600x100 pixels, 60kb) - no text
* Image (max 200*50) + Text (max 2 lines)
* Text (max 4 lines)

Yeah you can, you must simply anticipate the direction of CPU shots (it's luck sometimes) and wait until the PC makes a slow curved shot, here you can attack with a forehand/backhand bomb!
Anyway, I've uninstalled the game, it sucks Laughing

Every time at the same point. Match, play single & double, win both = crash to Windows.

Sigh... And the Daemon Tools + YASU doesn't work for me....

Anyone else experiencing this as well in the 3rd season?
Or am I the only who is still playing this shit? Razz

Crashed once for me after playing both singles and doubles in tournament in first season. So I stopped playing doubles. Its a bit lame anyway.

the whole career thing is lame! It's so damn easy it's not fun at all...and I didn't notice any option to change difficulty in it.
