(Unsure about mod compatibility but I expect a lot of them will need to be updated as usual, more files are changed than what the changes listed in the changelog relate to after all albeit I haven't compared them to 1.5.08 that much yet, patches are cumulative you see so it takes a while.)

EDIT: From the official forums the new ambient occlusion option is a DX10.1 option and that flash drive mission in Cordon still hasn't been fixed as the developers forgot about it.

EDIT: Could be wrong though as the console command is R2_SSAO_HDAO and R2 is DX9

EDIT: Game still looks good but I can't see any major differences with the above option enabled, SSAO shader from Float32 was incompatible as well but the others work.

EDIT: In the database file there's a duplicate shaders folder so it's \gamedata\shaders\shaders so the new effects won't work properly unless corrected a bit.
-Update: Nope I just unpacked the archive incorrectly \shaders\shaders is where the files are located now.

the update part just sounds like you repeated what u did originally lol.. isnt it just \shaders ?

Yeah I didn't explain that so well, I unpacked the archive incorrectly the first time.

Game now stores shader files inside both Gamedata\shaders\shaders and Gamedata\shaders but the new files and the primary location from which they're read is \gamedata\shaders\shaders, there's too many files missing from the "other" folder so the game would crash during start-up if it couldn't find them in some way. Smile

Everything supposedly works as intended. Smile
(The new hi-def AO requires SSAO quality to high and DX10 to work, also works with DX10.1 and geometry shader optimizations plus MSAA - AA method added via a patch that is and the optimization stuff is that R3_GBuffer_Optimize command, however it might conflict with the previous R2_SSAO_HBAO command as it seems like a alternative to HDAO which incidentally is the command R2_SSAO_HDAO however I haven't compared them as you can't just toggle them on/off to see a visual difference instead you must switch one of them on and disable the other followed by exiting the game and restarting it.)

That happens when you launch it directly from the executable, use the shortcut instead.

no group has bothered to crack the last few updates for quite a while, updates merely do any changes, not noticeable ones anyway, without mods it's still a buggy as shit unoptimized DX10 benchmark

They really should provide a engine changelog or something as the list of changes provided are only a part of what's altered, 1.5.08 optimized the LOD system for example and 1.5.09 fixed a few game bugs, unsure what exactly 1.5.10 does (Haven't downloaded it yet so I've only seen the expected changes.)

That said the core gameplay mechanics won't be altered much at all, it's more action oriented than Shadow of Chernobyl though Call of Pripyat seems to go back to that level or what to call it albeit with the new features from Clear Sky along with X-Ray 1.6

Are there any "big" mods out there for this game? Like AMK or Oblivion Lost were for the original STALKER?

Or any mod that changes that god awful ending?

I had some problems running fresh installation with crack since it said that some file is missing. What I did is I copied entire BIN folder without subfolders into my Stalker: Clear sky folder and ran the .exe and then it worked.

I have a problem with the latest patch on windows 7. After trying to start the game, it crashes and i get the message that xrengine caused a breakpoint in core.dll.
Maybe someone can help me out with this problem ?

Fuck this game. I thought I'd play it before playing the new one since I never got around to it. What a buggy piece of garbage.

I had am around yanter doing the missions there. I was supposed to meet a group of stalkers and kill some zombies with them going into the factory. The game crashed. Reload, I can't activate the missions. I press F, nothing its like they're broken. Shoot them, nothing.
So I reload an earlier save, I have to get the PDA, I get it, then I have to give it to the scientist.. except the alarm is going off.. where the zombies? well the red dot is INSIDE the locked door. Somehow 1 or 2 zombies bugged into the compound. I can't get in to blast them and I can't seem to find a no-clip command to walk through the locked door to get them.


Intel i5 6500 3.2Ghz, Geforce 970GTX 2GB, 16 GB Ram, Windows 7

Yeah, Clear Sky is still bugged to all hell. Just like the original game. I'm pretty much waiting for a Clear Sky 'Complete' mod to come out for Clear Sky and then i'll play it. It wasn't until the complete mod for the original that I could even play through the original without quitting because of all the bugs.

I never had this issue with the original game (didn't quite finish it, but got close to the end)

This has pretty much borked both of my staggered saves and quick save. Which means unless I can find a way to reset the quest NPC to let him trigger the quest or find a way to no clip into the locked scientist base to blast the zombie, the only option for me is to start over.

I'm playing the latest patch. Has anyone got any kind of solution to either of those problems? Is there a no clip?
