For anyone that plays Blood Bowl and also uses X-Fire, go to this thread and reply with a /signed
http://www.xfire.com/xf/modules.php?name=Forums&file=viewtopic&t=232065

Let's make sure Blood Bowl gets supported ASAP in their next update - the thread is already getting buried amidst other crap and it would be awesome to be able to stream the games live via the broadcast feature. You can sign into the forum via your X-Fire login details, no need to register.

g2play emailed that to people who bought BB keys from them, so there is no link. Everyone who had banned keys from g2play got new keys or got a refund so it's pointless to keep on discussing this any longer. Keys bought from onlinekeystore weren't banned.

Keys from onlinekeystore werent banned? But that website was the one named in the topic... Wyrd shit man. Confused

I've seen a few people claim onlinekeystore and g2play are owned by the same guy. Some russian.

Indeed, and as someone already pointed it out, both are located in Singapore (his name which was available on PayPal I think didnt sound russian). But why would the same guy have two websites, selling almost the same shit? Either way, I bought a key from each, Age of Conan and Blood Bowl.. Still havent seen if AoC will work, the seven day trial hasnt finished. Wink

They claimed he was getting some heat in Europe or something so he "sold" the websites to a Singapore company. There was a whole lot of garbage being tossed around but very little evidence being given to support any of it. I already related my experience with g2play in the anno thread, I bought the key, their system screwed up and took my order while they didn't have stock, after 3 days they gave me a key and refunded my money.. I don't know that I trust them, but that key works fine.

Yea, and the Blood Bowl key activated the game just fine on my end.. And I am fairly sure the AoC key will work when the time comes to enter it, and even if it doesnt it was so cheap it wont really matter.

I have a serious fucking problem on my hands. All of my star players (TV 2200) are almost aged to the point of retirement. There's no way I can afford a full new team by the time they kick the bucket - I'm only at $200k and losing ($40k) due to expenses each game. What to do....

If you play in Blitz mode they age. They start with 100 points and go down from there. As it stands ALL of my players are in the 20 point range so they'll all be retiring around the same time.

I don't cheat - takes the fun and accomplishment out of the game. Guess I'm just going to have to make due for now.

That's why aging is bullshit. The real Bloodbowl way is better.
Anyway, they don't age if you don't use em in a game, so switch out a couple of players every match. Had to do that in Chaos League: Sudden Death as well (the reason I stopped playing)

@VGA: Nah, sorry. Killed star players can be rehired. They're sadly not perma dead.

What the hell, your players age in this game? Is there any way to prevent it then?

Fond as I am of playing the more agile and weaker teams, it's hard enough to build up star players without losing them to injuries, so with forced aging retirement tacked on top of that, a big part of the fun of Blood Bowl would just disappear for me.

We just discussed it, man. When you start a new game you get the option to play the normal mode or the Blitz mode.

My superstar minotaur just aged out - he had an epic career, 22 deaths to his name while escaping death himself three times by my count.

When the age reaches zero you can see them on the "Buy a Player List" with a little copper medallion in their status column to signify retired. Kinda cool. Love how you actually grow attached to your players in this game.

Are the apothecaries as useless on the PC version as they are on the PSP version? I've had to use him 4 times now and not once has he ever changed the result of anything.

Just got beginning of the game, fan throws a rock, player dead.
apothecary can't do crap. last game, it was a casualty. These rocks are serious.

It seems there is a bug with using rerolls too fast which includes apothecary rerolls.
Don't activate them too fast seems to be the consensus. Besides that, they're amazing even if you only have 1.

Rocks are nasty, yes. No armour roll, automatic injury roll which can be disastrous.

The apothecary is an absolute must-have ! He has saved me from permanent negativ effects 2 times.

Also, the rock event only happened once to me but my player didn't get injured, just knocked down. The rolls depend on fan support, right ? So, cheerleaders should help.

By the way, my fan factor is 10, is there an upper limit ?

Upper FF limit is 20 IIRC.
Strange that he only got nocked out. Should be an automatic injury.

Edit: Never mind, that is possible

2-7 on the injury table is Stunned (2D6)

Edit2: Been browsing through the LRB and there's no mention of an upper limit to Fan Factor thop the interface doesn't go further then 18.

So I've been kinda watching a guy over at youtube Let's Play Blood Bowl and it looks sooo fun. Although there are some mechanism that I don't get.
Is there a good tutorial or does the manual clear up most stuff?
Right now I am really considering buying that.

Are the system requirements on the first page for real?
And a quick question about loading times. The guy over at youtube seems to have pretty long loading times. Is that system related or are they just long?
btw. for anybody interested:

Got about 45 seconds into that video and I wanted to bury a mace in his skull - most annoying narration ever.

With regards to your question - the tutorials and manual suck. That's not to say you shouldn't read them, but the only way you'll ever really get an understanding of the game is to play it and lose continuously until it magically clicks. Once it clicks, it's like second nature.
The strategy guide however, included in the same dir as the manual, gives valuable insight as to how each team plays, some team builds, and the strengths/weaknesses of each team.

The first 2 days I played the game I lost continually. Once I figured out tackle zones, turnovers, and what each abilit/meant/did, I very rarely lost a game. I have yet to play online against others however.

The load times for a match, for me, are about 15 seconds give or take.

i think that a code is for a copy only legally purchased. almost like all DRM you can not use to activate a used serial otherwise it was already cracked with the last patches too

My system specs are way overkill to run a game like this - as such I don't think they'd be of any help. The graphics in this game are nothing fascinating, and you'll be playing most of the game zoomed out so far that they won't even matter (to be able to see the whole field and where everyone is positioned relative to each other).

Here they are anyways though -

Intel Core 2 Duo E8400 @ 3.0 GHz
NVidia GTX 285
Soundblaster Audigy 2 ZS
4 GB Corsair XMS RAM
Vista Ultimate x64
