Why are you complaining ? The original pic looks like it's from some girly love story book.

Not saying the new one is better though..

Nice to see a release, game works via Rev loader as well with the AppID of 32360 though with a cracked release out this isn't as important unless they start releasing patches, also you can choose your prefered language when the game starts. Smile
(English, French, Italian, German and Spansih - EFIGS I believe it's shortened to or just Multi-5)

Surprised with the hi-res graphics, expected maximum 800x600 for some reason. And even more surprised with the price, $10 - insta buy for me Smile

The settings files (And saves) are stored in the "C:\Users\YourUserName\AppData\Roaming\LucasArts\The Secret of Monkey Island Special Edition" folder, might be possible to alter it from there. Smile

EDIT: Answered a bit better in the post below. Smile

Edit Settings.ini in "C:\Users\UserName\AppData\Roaming\LucasArts\The Secret of Monkey Island Special Edition\"

Language=0 is english or leave it empty to get language selection when you next time start playing

You are absolutely right, I bought this too as I have always bought The Monkey Island games on release date.

Btw. All you that call yourself Monkey Island fans should buy it as LucasArts has already stated that they will continue making these Remakes if the first one does well (we need Monkey Island 2 remade) Very Happy
I payed 8,99 Euros for this gem on steam that's only like 2 packs of cigarettes, but instead you get several hours of brilliant humor Smile

Well, that's not exactly what they said, but yeah, there is hope.

This remake, and the Steam re-releases, is definitely better than what LucasArts has been farting around with for the past couple years.

Yeah, it actually really is impressive, the way it seamlessly switches back and forth.

Also, as I understand it, the remake is actually running on the real SCUMM engine (with updates, of course). That means that the SCUMM engine has been used for 22 years now (heavily modified over the years, granted, but still, all evolutions of the same code). That's pretty remarkable. I certainly can't think of any other game engine that's had nearly a quarter-century lifespan.

Actually I do have a source for that claim Wink Wink

If you want to see LucasArts' peerless catalogue of point-and-click adventure games re-released for today's modern machines, buy The Secret of Monkey Island Special Edition in a few months time.

"If this sells, there's no one at this company who doesn't want to do these games," says Brooks. "It's a matter of showing that there's interest and this market is alive and get people as excited as possible about Monkey Island Special Edition to show that these things can make it."
