no, it seems that the game itself does not recognize input from a normal joystick at all
I didn't even find a menu where you could remap the standard keyboard keys (which was possible in GH3)
I saw somewhere that a 360 controller is supported though: http://www.aspyr.de/guitarheroworldtour/GuitarHeroWTHardware.pdf
using joy2key (or a similar tool) to remap the ps2 guitar buttons to the correct keyboard keys works fine though, I just tried it

xlro does it seem like the full game or is it maybe the E3 Build that they were using to show off Intel cpus at the Intel Booth?

the PC version is out for 5 days already, so this should be the final version
looks like the full game too, just started career mode
the version it shows ingame is 1.0.1.25215
|

Jeez, how could they fuck this up so badly?
First they greet me with the total inability to use the keyboard to type in the band name. I have to scroll through the fucking alphabet and select the letters one by one.
Then they have no way to change the default keys. Even GH3 had that. And they are the most concerned why shitty ports sell shitty on the PC.

you can, since there is also a inbuilt keyboard mapping for drum mode
it's shown on startup of the game
and yeah, this is really a bad port, there is no effort for the pc platform whatsoever (entering names etc)
I also got a few perormance issues (with a 3GHz quad + 4870 1GB), when the star power notes (stars) show up... I mean GH3 PC was bad and needed redicoulus HW at the time to run such a game smooth - how can this be even worse.

Aspyr sucks big time with all their PC ports. They always seem to have problems and hardly ever fix them. Activision must really be getting a good rate from them to stick with them after all these years of their half-assed ports.

The menu has the most illogical keyboard layout I've ever seen. Most buttons are taken straight from the XB controller. Want to add the selected letter to your band name? Press X on your keyboard. Want to delete one? Press Y. I'm suprised they even took the time and effort to implement the enter key into their whole twisted idea of menu-navigation.
Want to add songs to your quick play list? Press Enter on each and then press backspace to start playing. Makes...no...sense...

There is an AspyrConfig.xml (in $user/AppData), with these entries:

The numbers are probably the keys and changeable - didn't try myself, since I just use joy2key to map the joystick buttons directly to the right keys.
_Menu seems to be for drums, since it has KICK with 318, which should be space and equals STAR 318 at _Guitar settings.
The game also recognizes my german keyboard layout and switches Z with Y (which I map in joy2key) - so the keys can't be 100% hardcoded.

I just can watch the Band tut (on the bottom of the list) and can't select any of the other ones.

It was the same for me. On top of this, the narrator's voice was overly loud and it was fucking with my speakers (I had to turn the volume down quite a bit and even then the voice was making my speakers click every now and then).

beside the annoing mapping at the keyboard did anyone managed to use the voice mode.. i pluged my microfon and it still the games does not detect it:(

The mic has to be USB.
Its running smooth on my 2.8GHZ Q9550 + GTX260 max settings.

If it is like the Xbox 360 version, you should be able to plug your Live headset into your 360 controller and have that act as a mic.

Atleast the guitars are cheap. They are selling them for like €4 where I live. Not the best ones, but atleast they work.
shitloads of new stuff in my pc. Cant keep track of it all.

FUCK.Everytime i connect via bluetooth the wii guitar the game doesn't even start or shuts down automatically if it's already running.This is fucking crazy.They have protection for preventing users using the guitar this way?This is ridiculous.

any idea how to get the game to run in a window? I need to change the display settings in order to play the game in full screen...my LCD is not optimized for the default video display settings...like a bunch of other games. Need to change it to 1368 x 728

You may be able to change it in the aspyrconfig.xml.
