Why is the fixed benchmark alot harder, dont know how to say it good.
At the first benchmark i have 65 frames average, evertyhing maxed out. At the second benchmark i have 34 frames average. Why is the second one lower?

who cares about the pc version?

the console version is out since march, and the game itself is nothing special.

for me the worst resi in the series..

Fixed benchmark has a ton of zombies to stress the computer, gameplay benchmark shows what FPS you actually get when playing. I though it's pretty obvious.

Well in my opinion is the second best (only because RE4 was a blast!).
Really nice game.

BTW I remember people were mocking at me when I was saying how good actually Capcom ported SF4, saying it was a simple game with nothing to display, and there was nothing to be impressed about on medium rigs...

Now that Capcom has ported RE5 and it runs beautifully on medium rigs (8800 GT + C2D) what are people gonna say ? That RE5 is displaying simple scenes ? Hopefully now people notice that Capcom knows how to program.

I agree that the last couple ports Capcom did were quite good, but all the hatred is understandable, since RE4 and manily DMC3 were total shitty ports.

I think neither were done by Capcom, but outsourced to third-party developers. These are first-party ports. Smile

Damn, what's wrong with scenes 3 and 4? Confused The framerate is stable at 24 while in scenes 1 and 2 it was always over 60...
It's strange since there is the same number of zombies, and the locations are quite similar, maybe some problems rendering the water? (scenes 1&2 don't have water).
I've run the benckmark 3 times with the same results:

EDIT: it was a crossfire issue (4870x2)...I disabled it and voilà, now the game runs stable on 60fps with a single 4870 Rolling Eyes
(lol I hadn't seen JBeckman's posts in the previous page..)

he lies i have a 8800GT and i surely dont get 67fps average, although i use Win7 RC 64bit but i doubt it has anything to do with it.. I have around ~50fps (i dont remember the result), but the game is not running at 60fps ALL the time... Still runs fine >30fps all the time Smile

EDIT : or maybe i'm lying cuz i'm not using 190.xx nvidia drivers.. i'm not sure now !

To anyone lucky enough to have an nVidia 3D Vision setup, there is a special 3D version of the benchmark out on nZone:

Those with Nvidia cards should install the new forceware (190.xx), specially if you have SLI. It gives a big boost in performance.

I get an average of 55 FPS with all max, vsync on, no AA @ 1024x768 on an Athlon X2 7750 overclocked to 3.0GHz and an ATI HD3850 256mb.
AA 4x makes the frame rate go down to 30, most likely due to the lack of enough memory.

Disabling vsync makes the game go up to 100 FPS in some scenes, and since this is a port it looks like it's playing in fast forward Laughing

PC games shouldn't have that behavior. They should run smother, not "faster". But since it's a port from a console, where games are programed with a fixed FPS, we get this "fast forward" effect when going above 60 FPS without vsync enabled...

Hmm I've found info on one of PL gameing websites, that 5th part will have "enchanced keyboard and mouse" steering.... right...i bet it will suck, and playing w/o pad will be sensless..

@metatron83 - I am not too much console gamer, but I haven't found game that runs as smooth as on console for years. PC editions runs faster in terms of max fps, but it is not that kind of smoothnes which makes u sick.

I don't get that effect even with the first scenes going up to 150 FPS, perhaps it's something else?
(For the X2 CPU's AMD has a dual-core "optimizer" program, fixes some issues similar to what you've described.)
