Do yourself a favor and read the comic and then see the film not only will you understand how this never can be compared to Sin City but also how great it really is as both a comic and a film.

3 HR movies dont deserve my attention. Sorry, my attention span and life have better things to do. Cut it to 1:45 min and I will be fine.

I am not even bothering to view Watchmen if though I grabbed it. 3 hrs is too long for me.

Midnight Run - 7/10 , nice buddy movie , De Niro was his usuall bad ass persona
Blue Velvet - 7/10 it wasnt as surreal as i thought it would be , it surely aint no Mulholland Drv. but it's still good.
A Bridge Too Far - 7.5/10 , good war movie with great performances , but i didnt really connect to the story , but it was a really grandious movie but imo Apocalypse Now came 2 years later and changed everything about war movies.
In Cold Blood - 7/10 , great visuals and good performances but i dunno , i didnt find it as eerie as Capote tho

Ahh.. Now you are making me change my mind about Watchmen. I did begin watching a crappy camcorder version when it first came out..the first 10 min was kinda boring, but needed more time to view.

Maybe Ill will give the latest version another try. I do like comics, did like the latest X-Men workprint..hmm

Okay, I'm a little behind with movies and never watched any of the classics as a kid. So I decided recently to go and check em all out:

Godfather - 10/10
Godfather 2 - 10/10
Taxi Driver - 9/10
Casino - 9/10
Goodfellas - 8.8/10
Cape Fear - 8.5/10
Raging bull - 8.9/10
Mean streets - 8/10
Donnie Brasco - 8.7/10
Once Upon A Time In America (3.58hrs version) - 8.9/10

(just my opinion, no hate!)

Russel Crowe should have got an oscar for that performance. And that goes for a beautiful mind as well.

Btw, this is one the best movies in recent years because it touches a problem - multibilion dollar companies do to protect their interests - great performances and how the story was presented.

Best scene, when Russel Crowe sits on the couch across his former job law office floor and tells Paccino "that's were they fuck up my life" Wink

Streets of Blood

4/10

Acting was all over the place! Every scene felt so artificial made the plot irrelavant. Val Kilmer major let down. 50 cent was more or less ok...watchable atleast

My 14 year old watched Watchmen today.
I left him alone in the TV room.
He walked out, came into my office and decalred,
"Ok. THAT was the best freakin' movie EVER!"

Me so proud that he doesn't just look for action flicks. He said he liked it because it was a totally different take on the superhero genre and had a great story. Imagine that.
Very Happy

Oh, and it was the 1080p Director's Cut version.
