While SEGA's tactical RPG Valkyria Chronicles was released on the PS3 last year, the sequel will be coming to the PSP instead. VK2 will keep the cell shaded graphics, is set two years after the original in a military school in Gallia, and will introduce new characters as you control various military cadets. The story itself is being told from 17-year-old Avan Hardence's perspective, will feature more missions, battle tank customization, and ad hoc.
There is just one thing. I don't think we are going to see the English version released at the same time. I think we have to wait for the English version until 2011.
Well remember valkyria 1. It came first to japan and after wards it was translated to English and exported to US and Europe. If you go to the valkyria 2 page you will see that it's on Japanese and no mention about the English version.
Some videos of it in action. Looks like it's running in some sort of 'easy' mode due to the way he can run right up to the enemy and withstand all those hits, but aside from that - at a glance - it appears to be Valkyria Chronicles... on the PSP. Who'd of thunk it?
Oh yeah, good point. It's basically the same mechanics of the game at a glance... but a lot of the charm of the original Valkyria for me was the sweet story and characters so don't think you can just skip the PS3 version
I won't, not once I finally wrangle a PS3 By the time I get one, I'm gonna have a LOT of awesome games to catch up with. Especially like the Platinum range, loads of games for £20 there.
Just got this and was surprised how much it felt like a proper, full Valkyria game. Very impressed actually, and the recent VC3 PSP announcement is now less of a disappointment. There's a bit of a tonal shift, and the anime styling is a bit cheap, but first impressions are good.
