When you are in legacy, you unlock stuff every so often, if you want to wear those items youve unlocked, you have to go back to my boxer and edit him and then goto the clothes section from there?? There is no section which says new items?
So unless youve made a specific note of the items unlocked youve got no idea whcih are new and which are old?
Perhaps there is an option in the legacy menu im missing or something, would love to stand corrected ehehehe

Good game, the fights look and play great and the controls are fine for me (never played FNR3 so no idea how it would be with buttons)
Things I don't like are the pretty frustrating training in legacy mode and the commentators in my legacy fights seem to repeat their discussions way way too often.

You can't change styles in legacy mode, only in CAB edit mode.
When someone is wailing on you (online) with the body spam - how are you supposed to respond? If I'm an outfighter and I get sucked into the vacuum near the other boxer and he's spamming body shots I don't seem to be able to do anything as the block will only work so long before he then starts jab spamming. You might suggest counter-punching but that is a lottery for me as if I do successfully get it timed right (in between all the body blows) my fighter is stood there like a pillock and unable to fire off a shot in time, or worse - at all - before he starts spamming up top or below YET AGAIN.
I know we had a problem with button mashers online in the previous title but now I think we have a problem with punch spammers! Not only is it annoying, but it's so unrealistic - and when it starts lagging; extremely shitty.
I will lose against methodical boxers any day of the week - but if I have to lose against body spammers because of the vacuum you get sucked into and the inability to fire of return punches.... nnnnaargh!
Also, the settings in options screen for boxer speed and so on; they can be tweaked for some good effects so don't ignore them.

What really annoys me is the randomness. You fight, weaken the oppent and all of a sudden he throws a punch and you go down. The opponents health and stamina regenarate way too fast. When the oppent is rocked it is also too difficult to knock him down, he somehow seems to block every shots.

I have to disagree with that, particularly as you can't actually button mash in FN4
I also find the added fear and excitement of landing that killer blow or indeed series of blows that results in a flash KO to make for a more realistic and entertaining battle. In the past it was a war of attrition that always ended up the same way; you either wore them down to the KO point and won, they did the same to you, or it went to decision (which was so, so rare in FN3 that it was pretty ridiculous). Now its possible to connect a punch and bam, the guy goes down. It keeps you on your toes looking for that punch, in both offence and defence. That added layer of unpredictability is a great addition.

It depends, I've had fighters who look every bit as vulnerable and foolish as myself when they get stunned, but then there's the fighters which are godly at blocking and the only thing you can do there is change it up with shots to the body and head and hope one connects and wear down his block. I think if they were any more vulnerable it would be too easy personally.
FN4 is more realistic but like FN3 it has problems. I can forgive those however as the singleplayer is very enjoyable.

Well, practised for a few hours today and at last I think I'm getting better. Like 30 (27)-0-0 or something, no draws, no losses. I got three belts, first place in the ranking and... that's all?

Wow, not one loss? Even with some copious cheating (exiting the game before it saves ) I still can't avoid the losing against a clearly superior boxer, don't tell me you are playing on Pro/GOAT?!... still you're right the career mode isn't fleshed out as far as material outside of the ring is concerned - but the fights are satisfying enough that I think it's not a deal breaker.

Ispep - of course I was exiting the game before it saved I am not playing on Pro, amateur and everything set to default. It now became too easy - ended every fight by knockout, so I switched to Pro. IMHO it's not difficult because the opponents fight better, but it's just unbalanced, you don't seem to hurt the opponents much and many of their hits end in stunning you. So, basically it sucks. The career mode is better than in FNR3 but still not very interesting. The unlockables are basically obsolote, I don't really care about customizing the color of socks, especially that it doesn' change anything. On the other hand, what can you expect in a career mode in a boxing game? Of course, raping women as Mike Tyson might have been a nice addiction...

Really? The training is actually pretty easy to master once you know what to do.
I had mastered it before reading this guide but it will help a lot:

Graphics is better. As for fighting, it's easier to get the hang of it, after all it's just a few punches. UFC is much tougher to learn. And, I find UFC career mode extremly boring, it's just moving around those awful menus.

I agree. I tried the carrer mode in UFC and it sucked i didn't even play a season but i like the fighting style but the controllers suck in UFC. I just wonder can you start a career with e.g Mike Tyson,Mohammed Ali etc or you have to create ur own fighter like in UFC?
PS. How is the online mode? in UFC it's a bit laggy..is it the same in FNR4?

you can beat career in ufc undisputed by button mashing
this game requires skill
it's tough to learn. i bought it today.
picked some old skinny guy in his own league and a guy one league above... i couldn't do shit lol...
went on for like 9 rounds and i got my ass handed to me.
soo many combinations for punching... i always try for uppercuts but straight blows to the head or straight punches work well too
it just gets difficult sometimes lol
kick ass game though... always has that intense feeling to it i dunno why but it's like the first legit fighting game i played since street fighter series and this game just blows it out of the water... atmosphere... style... tension and everything... it's like... you have to time everything just right.... you can't go around swinging the analog stick you'll just get in like a few punches in
imo way better than ufc
